With what we have experienced in left field for nearly one third of the season as far as offense is concerned, was Ordonez even mentioned as a possible acquisition target. Here is a guy that has been one of the most feared hitters in the AL for ten plus years. He would have fit nicely between Votto and Bruce in the lineup. Sure, he's lost any speed and some defense he may have had, but with our poor offense I would sacrifice some defense for a hitter. Surely he had to be a better choice than Ludwick, Harris, Valdez, and others. Since he had no takers, he is set to retire this Sunday in Detroit. What a shame.

There is a reason he had no offers...washed up. Yeah, he was once a very good hitter, but now he is far from that.

Didn't he just retire?
