The Reds have played great through the first quarter of the season, but I still think they are one good player away ...

Having said that, if you could pick one player that you would like to see in a Reds uniform that might make an impact on the team who would it be. Any player can be chosen. It has to be somewhat conceivable that they could be traded (only meaning the Reds probably don't have the ammo to get Matt Kemp or Ryan Braun). But really any player is on the table.

So here is the deal one player you would like to see the Reds pick up or trade for that you think could be the difference.

I will throw out the name Ryan Zimmerman. I am aware he signed a new contract, but I think he would be a good fit for the Reds and would sure up that corner.

OK name the player ...

I said any player ... perhaps my rules were not clear enough. I am only trying to eliminate the obvious. Of course the top 10 players in the league would make a big difference, but I wanted people to put some thought into it.

BTW Zimmerman is probably untouchable, but it is not totally inconceivable. The Nationals best prospect is a 3rd basemen in the minors (he is projected to come up next year) and Zimmerman's contract has a no-trade clause, but it doesn't kick in until 2 years from now.

I'm guessing Tulo is one of the pointless scenarios you laid out. Otherwise I'll go for.... McCutchen.

One player that impressed me after having watched him for four games is Martin Prado. I am sure he isn't untouchable. Pretty solid player.

He seems like a guy that would fit in well. He can play multiple positions as well.

Definitely Prado. Lefties, righties - he crushes them both.

I also like Matt Joyce, but because it's the Rays, and him being a hometown kid, it will never happen.

Joyce is seeing split time in Tampa ... it would be a possibility especially when Desmond Jennings comes back.
