Here's the Pirate lineup that Johnny Cueto will face. Looks like the same as last night except the pitcher.

Here's the Red Leg lineup per Fay. No Stubbs. Wouldn't surprise me if he's on the DL since we know Negron is coming up. Need a good game from Cueto tonight and more importantly a win!

Zack Cozart 6
Chris Heisey 8
Joey Votto 3
Brandon Phillips 4
Jay Bruce 9
Todd Frazier 5
Ryan Ludwick 7
Ryan Hanigan 2
Johnny Cueto 1

Need a big outing from Cueto tonight, Reds need to make some hay while the Cardinals are struggling. I may be way off base but, the Pirates still don't scare me.

I like this lineup for the Reds.

Also gotta like the pitching matchup. Let's do this.

Really? Cozart leading off (.248 obp)? Phillips in clean-up(.427 slg)? Hanigan(.361 obp) sitting at the bottom of the order?

Yeah, I'd like a re-do on this lineup.

Phillips
Hanigan
Votto
Bruce (swap Bruce/Frazier if we MUST split he and Votto)
Frazier
Heisey (swap Phillips/Heisey if we face a lefty)
Ludwick
Cozart
Pitcher

Clearly not ideal, but we don't have ideal hitters...so what are ya gonna do?

I went through this in my thread about Reds Stats Thru Fifty Games.

I've never understood that thought process. A guy walks someone on 4 pitches and people expect the next batter to automatically take pitches until he throws strikes. I think it's the other way around. You know he's thinking about it at the start of the next batter to POUND the zone with a fastball. I'm looking dead-red for a fastball down the middle on pitch #1 there.
