How did Valdez do in CF last night? I missed the game on TV. I'm surprised Harris isn't in CF tonight.

As long as Valdez is hot at the plate he needs to keep starting. I thought he played very well last night for never starting a game in CF. Does anyone know when Heisey is expected back or is it going to be another situation like Stubbs has had? I don't think his injury was as serious' as Stubby's was.

Votto K'd looking on a nice FB on the outside corner. Frazier chased a high FB, I believe the count was 1-2. Bruce's HR was on a curveball that the pitcher dropped down and tried to threw a sidearm job. Curveball had no depth, he threw it at his hip, and it ended up in the sweet spot, low on on the inside cornder.

I'm not sure how it could be looked at as a negative.

He is outside of the top 20% of outfielders in the NL. I'm not sure that it is that much of a positive. Add in the fact that he is a huge talent and it is arguable that it could be a negative.

The Mets pick you apart with these lefty hitters who aren't great but make decent contact. Given that the Mets are rebuilding, this type of team suits them well at a big ballpark like Citifield.

It's a tough matchup for Homer and so far he's handling it pretty well.

I must compliment Homer tonight. He's pitched well all year, but this game he has done very well with men on base.

Interesting that Lecure was throwing.

Suggests to me that Reds are either resting Ondrusek for awhile, or just want to use him in earlier innings when the game isn't on the line.

Logan is well rested, if he was the righty of choice, he would have been in the pen there.

Of course, they could always switch to Logan if they need a righty here.

And now Fox takes me away from the game to show highlights from earlier games

Love seeing all the sliders. I think he really needs to get that going again.

Aroldis mixing it up tonight. Full count now on Torres.

Let's rest Chappy tomorrow.

I feel a Sunday Special coming up.

Didn't get to watch or listening to the game. Spent the day in Pittsburgh for Father's Day. I did follow on the At Bat app on my iPhone. Great day for Homer; he pitched better than good.
Also happy that the Reds won because the Pirate fans here are obnoxious enough this season. I did point out to them that the Reds were four up on their team--they had bragged that they were going to gain a game on us when I was in town. Luckily, I'm heading home tomorrow morning and that's not going to happen :).

Granted I'm only talking about what I saw online since I think I've only ever known one Pirates fan IRL, but man, does that annoy me. It's like, your team has been terrible for almost 20 years. You think they'd be thrilled just to have a decent stretch of mediocrity and instead they're all arrogant about it or whatever. Hell, I'm humbled every time the Reds play well because I expect it to stop at any minute.
