Interesting that Frazier is in LF and Ludwick is the DH.Thought that, too. Maybe it's a misprint. Having never seen Todd play in the outfield, I don't know what to think.

This could be another slug fest.

I was thinking the same thing but you have to think that Mike Leake is due for a quality start. Something like 7IP with 1BB 6SO and 2 ER. Hows that?:)

Cozart leadoff double.

Ump today is calling inside strikes it seems. Should be interesting to see how that works out.

Cozart to third on a wild pitch.

Votto flies out to shallow left center.

Now that ball was caught in very short left by the shortstop. Hearing how rarely Votto pops out to the infield...that was one. (Or was it?)

Well I think it's that Votto never pops up in the infield. The popup was caught by an infielder, but it was in the outfield so I don't think it counts. :dunno:

_Sir_Charles_
06-19-2012, 07:50 PM
Frazier looked Alonso-esque out there in left on that last play.

Yep. I have not been impressed by his OF play the past couple years. Someone (I can't recall who right now for some reason) thought Frazier was best in LF...and considerably better at left than at 3rd. I just don't see that AT ALL. But that being said, he's athletic enough that given time, he'll be acceptable at nearly any position. I just think his best spots are the left side of the infield (I still think he's better at short than people think).

Interesting answer to the stumper for Jeff. Number of Reds who had 2000 hits as a Red prior to Rose getting his 2000th hit. They had the answer as zero (C), but Bid McPhee had 2258 hits with the Reds. Only about 1300 were with the NL Reds, the balance with the American Association team at the beginning of his career. That league was considered a major league and the Reds show McPhee on their all-time leaders with his total base hits. I cry foul.

I don't know whose fault it was. Baker with a dumb bunt call. Cozart with a bad bunt. Harris with a bad slide.

But you cannot lose that runner at third. You cannot do that and expect to win.

RedlegJake
06-19-2012, 10:13 PM
Harris had it beat all the way - the replay clearly showed his lead leg way ahead of the tag but he slid past the bag with his front leg and hooked his back leg to he bag which was a full second behind - a case where the hook slide was absolutley the wrong slide technique. He should have gone straight into the bag.
