Chad has been the Dodgers version of an enigma.......great stuff but always getting beat and sometimes very hard.

Yet this lineup and the way they approach AB's....is like a tonic for underachieving pitchers.

On the pitching end.....giving up 2 runs to the Dodgers, who have been flat out terrible for a week. I think Bailey would give up 5 runs in 5 innings to the 1906 White Sox.

I don't think the Reds took a high school pitcher in the 1st round with hopes that he could be their #5 starter in 8 years.

I think they, and most, thought he had TOR stuff, and could be a TOR starter within 5 years....many even sooner.

I don't think the Reds took a high school pitcher in the 1st round with hopes that he could be their #5 starter in 8 years.

I think they, and most, thought he had TOR stuff, and could be a TOR starter within 5 years....many even sooner.

He's serviceable as a #5 starter....but it continues to be a roller coaster ride for fans. His trade value continues to decline as well.

He has the occasional gem, and as a #5....that's nice.

He didn't reach his ceiling. But at least acknowledge how most first rounders turn out. It was never going to be a sure thing.

It's about protecting your own guys. Billingsley might not go firing fastballs up and in so freely if he knows he's putting his own guys at risk.

I think the ball just slipped out of his hand I don't think it was anywhere close to where Billingsley wanted it to go. It is like the offense is scuffling so badly you guys just want to start up something for entertainment.

Bad AB by Cairo .....not beacuse he swung at the 1st pitch but he took a pitch that was better served to be driven the other way,....to even avoid having a play at the plate, in most instances if it goes to the right side.

Bruce was stuck there......he could have easily just been tagged trying to come back to the bag.

OK.....so Bailey is a good #4....sometimes pitches like he is a #2.....and we all hope he can be a solid #3. He is just flat out inconsistent.
