Some people will not like part of this deal but I think it is what will get this team over the top

Reds get H. Pence and J. Pierre

Phillies get D. Stubbs, C. Heisey, N. Soto, J. Sulbaran and H. Rodriguez

Phillies make the deal to get younger and shed some cash plus they get some good not great prospects.

Reds make this deal to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Pierre helps becase he has a high obp plus he's a lefty. His speed in the OF will be comparable to Stubbs but his arm is much weaker. For what both he and Stubbs bring to the table I will take Pierre. On to Pence he will take this team to the next level I love the way he plays the game he reminds me of Bruce in so many ways and he protects Votto for years to come I wish the Reds would have went after him last year. So this is what the lineup would look like

CF Pierre
2B Phillips
1B Votto
LF Pence
RF Bruce
3B Frazier/Rolen
SS Cozart
C Mes/Han
P

That would give Votto some real protection.

I'm in favor of any trade that involves Stubbs.

There's nothing there of great value to the Phillies to justify giving away Pence, IMHO.

Soto's the interesting part of that, and I don't *think* that would be enough to get it done. Stubbs/Heisey are flawed players who will perpetually be "what they are."
