If you look at the replay of the Cozart head hit it looks like the ball caught more helmet than anything. It looked as if his helmet was coming off when he got hit which turned out to be a good thing because the helmet took most of the impact. Good to see him and Votto back. Welsh was calling this the "Snub Game" because of Capuano and Cueto. Id love to see Cueto throw a gem tonight and shove it in the face of TLR

Stubbs is 0 for his last 17 or so. Taking pitches he should swing at and swinging at pitchers pitches.

Is he 0-for his last time Votto was hitting behind him? He's been getting a lot more breaking balls since then it seems like.

Weird sequence. Cueto calls time to adjust pants or jock, stadium plays music and doesnt cut it off during Cueto looking for the sign, so the ump calls time. Then Cueto pitches seemingly before the ump settles in. Pop out to Hanigan.

.240 in 2011. Not sure that's "very good."

.808 OPS....I'll take it. 11 dingers in 180 PA's vs. lefties, 21 in 480 vs. righties.

Overall OPS since the start of 2010 v. lefties is around .840.

Yeah, that's actually very, very good. :)

Bobby Abreu is a professional hitter. The Dodgers have a weak lineup.

You fall behind Abreu in that spot you cannot groove the pitch, which he did.

You make him go out of the zone to get a hit. If you walk him, you walk him, and pitch to the next guy.

You groove a pitch to Bobby Abreu, even at 38, and you get burned.

Three key plays this game. Frazier getting called out erroneously at second base on force play. Votto unable to score because of bad knee. Cueto grooving pitch to Abreu with first base open.

Kc's point is why I wished he had just walked Abreau. Bobby is a pro hitter. Someone said why? He almost sruck him out the spitch before. Right. And with a hitter like Abreu you get exactly one of those almosts. Then he makes you pay. He is past his prime but he is like old Ken Griffey Sr. He can hit until the day he dies. Those kind of guys were born to hit.

The kind of game the Reds have been on the wrong side of over the last 3-4 weeks. Other than the Arroyo no hitter where Stubbs hit the HR in the bottom of the 8th have we won a game in the last three weeks tied or down after the 6th inning? At some point things have to even out... You'd think

I agree, it was a bad pitch, it happens, he's given up 1 run through 6, typical Cueto. I'd hardly worry about that one pitch when this team is given great SP every night and is constantly fighting tooth and nail just to score enough runs to edge out the other team, which is 100X more frustrating to watch.

Obviously Cueto has been great, I'm not indicting the pitcher's whole season.

And Cueto certainly is entitled to allow a run.

But that one was predictable because it was Abreu. And in a very tight, low scoring game, I think it was a particularly bad mistake to throw it down Broadway to a hitter like Abreu.
