Sorry for the hyperbole...... But it's the 4th of July.

Zack Cozart 6
Drew Stubbs 8
Joey Votto 3
Brandon Phillips 4
Jay Bruce 9
Ryan Ludwick 7
Todd Frazier 5
Devin Mesoraco 2
Mike Leake RHP

vs. RH Aaron Harang. Harang pitched against the Reds once in 2002 for Oakland. He went six innings and allowed a run in 5-3 A’s win.

Only four Reds have faced Harang: Miguel Cairo (0-for-1), Scott Rolen (5-for-31), Wilson Valdez (2-for-3) and Ryan Ludwick (14-for-33). Ludwick has three home runs and nine RBI.

All info starting with the lineup....has been copyrighted with reluctunace from John Fay. (the misspelling is in honor of John Fay)

It does bear saying that it truly boggles the mind that this manager cannot see fit to change or move around players in the lineup ....at least once in a while.

Pure laziness cannot just be an issue......and I do not mean putting Cozart and Heisey as #1 and #2.

Ludwick has killed Harang....even if it was long ago and probably most of it at Cincy....but would he not be a better fit as #4? Does not Baker sometimes use stats to justify starting 1 person over another based on their hitting record?

Is he this obtuse? Does no one lend an ear and give any suggestions to him? I man someone he at least respects...beacuse it's sure not bloggers, posters and writers.

I think the Dodgers should hold Harang in reserve in case the game goes into extra innings. He was very good in that outing against San Diego years ago.

I am so glad this is just baseball and nothing too important rides on the decisions of Baker, his staff and the front office. Stubbs hitting second is complete incompetence. If your using him for just his glove don't handicap our scoring chances like we have for 24 straight at bats. Laughable.

His lifetime OPS batting second is about .800.

Thankfully, the Reds signed Votto for big money.

They HAVE to fix the tablesetter problem.

The fact that they haven't changed the batting order suggests that they will change personnel.

I guess after the Reds got 8 runs in the first game, we should have known they were near their runs quota for the series.

They got 10 altogether in the four game Giants series.

Last night, they got one in support of Cueto.

Tonight, we'll see. But it may just be another "tip of the hat" game.

After all, Harang is pitching, can't really expect too much offense.

I didn't even remember you said it, so it wasn't directed at you.

It was a reference to all these medium pitchers who shut down the Reds this year. Lots of tipping of caps to these guys.

Right now, I'm on Drew Stubbs watch. I'm focused on seeing if Drew can get a hit before the All Star break. It's much more interesting than these ball games.

I wouldn't expect too much. Petco isn't a great stadium for the Reds. It's hard to hit homers and it requires multiple hits in an inning to score.

Harang being lifted from the game. Pinch hitter coming up. Nice outing by Aaron against a fearsome lineup.

That was said tongue in cheek. The reality is this team is limping to the first half finish. I don't care if it's the Pads or the Nats, don't see us winning the final series.

We don't need Carew and Wiliams - just some roster balance. Even a Lance Nix type as a 4th OF and a better LH hitting utility infielder would do wonders for the roster.

No one thought Heisey + Stubbs would be this horrible. Two completely redundant parts that are just an OBP grease fire right now.
There's a reason he went after Bourn at the deadline last year. He knows what he's doing.

Didn't we limp to the All Star break the last two years also?
