Stubbs AND Heisey. Oh boy.

LOL, one of the great mysteries of baseball this year is the Ludwick/Heisey righty/righty platoon in LF for the Cincinnati Reds.

The mystery is how it's decided who plays on a particular night.

This mystery becomes all the more complex when Rolen plays third. Then we have the Ludwick/Heisey/Frazier three-way righty/righty/righty platoon in LF.

One of these beat writers should ask Dusty how this decision is made. I can't figure it out.

The numbers only decline if you don't hit. There's no rule that you can't hit on the West Coast.

Actually the numbers against lefties started to decline before this trip.

In any event, if they have trouble with lefties, and they don't hit righties well, it doesn't leave many options.

I think it has to be at least 50/50 for the simple fact Hanigan tends to wear down and start playing less effectively when he plays as much as he has. So I agree but from a different side of the question.

No equivalence there. Bruce dropped a fly ball. Heisey didn't throw out guys at home plate from the outfield on singles . Not the same thing.

Hanigan is on pace for career high in AB's which isn't a good thing. He's never OPS'd higher than .714 in his previous two seasons with more than 250ABs. Devin and Hanigan are with 10 pts in OPS.

Devin absolutely should be getting 60-65% of the reps at this point, but with the way the staff is dealing I can understand why you may not want to change. A creative and less risk adverse staff would be ratcheting up Mes into the dog days.
