How excited would you be?

I was checking the futures lines this morning for winning the NL and the Reds are right now 20% to make it to the World Series. Only team higher in the NL is Wash, and they're just barely ahead.

WAS 3.25 to 1
CIN 4 to 1
SFG 5 to 1
ATL 6 to 1
LAD 6.5 to 1
STL 8 to 1
PIT 10 to 1

Or in % form
WAS 23.5%
CIN 20 %
SFG 16.67%
ATL 14.3 %
LAD 13.3%
STL 11.1%
PIT 9.1%

I think I like our chances.

Just shows how much more important and dominant that pitching and defense are than a good offense. I, along with all of Reds Nation, am very excited for the next three months of baseball

The NL is wide open for about 8 or 9 teams to get in the top 5 and then hope to be peaking.

See 87 and 91 Twins....97 Marlins, 11 Cardinals

Let's start by winning a playoff game and go from there....

So we have a little bit less of a chance than Drew Stubbs getting a hit... hmmmm lol jk

Reds had a great fielding team in 2010 but u wouldn't have known that watching the Phillies series. Playoffs are a different animal

Just shows how much more important and dominant that pitching and defense are than a good offense. A philosophy I've always shouted high from the mountaintops, while screaming that Defense doesn't get a fraction of the attention it deserves, simply because it's not "measurable".

All I know is I was out in Las Vegas with work in February and put $100 on the Redlegs to win the World Series at 16:1 odds.
