I wish Ludwick was playing today, but I can see why Dusty would want to give him some rest. Just wish it was Stubbs sitting and not Ludwick. Although Stubbs has been hot too, so really I'm just nitpicking. As bad as Sanchez is, I'm not sure that it matters who we run out there lol.

Dusty rule: Have a good game then sit the next day. I think people were joking in yesterday's gamethread that Dusty would sit Ludwick today

Only half joking.. We all knew there was a decent shot at the prospect of him sitting, otherwise no one would have even made the jab. Anyway, looking forward to Latos. The wife got to chat with him for about 10 minutes on Friday about her cousin who used to room with him for 3 years in the San Diego farm system. Hes a pretty chill dude. Nice guy. Laid back.

Anyway. Let's gget win number 61 and 10 in a row guys.

I'm not a huge Heisey fan, but it has been 6 days since his last start. He plays fairly well in this role. He's just not an everyday player.

Bingo!

That said, the fascination with Heisey is so confusing to me.

Not as confusing as the board's everlasting fascination with lineup choices when they have the best record in baseball.

One potential reason for the Heisey start...maybe another team wants to see a little more of him? Tis the season.

I was just thinking Ludwick was so hot that he needed a day off. No reason to let him go out there and rake in his favorite park in MLB.

[Sarcasm off]

This is what drives a lot of people crazy about Dusty. I like Dusty overall, but my one gripe is lineup construction. If he wants to get Heisey a start, that's fine. Put him in CF and give Stubbs the day off. It's really not that complicated. Giving Ludwick a day off while he's this hot is doing a favor for the other team. Especially when Votto is already out of the lineup.

I know, I know, we've won nine in a row, our record is 60-40, how can there be anything to complain about? I get that. It's just that it seems foolish to give Lud a day off today. And, again, if Heisey needs to play (which I agree with) then put him in CF and put Stubbs on the pine.

I never saw him play for the Royals or much of his year with the Braves either. I was mostly going by seeing him play as a semi-regular outfielder with the Yankees when I lived in NJ. I think it's fair to say Drew has faced a lot of inferior pitching lately. Also think it's fair to say that some of the damage has been v lefties.

But his two big ninth inning hits were against Cordero, a righty, who (I realize) hasn't done much this year and now is injured. But a righty nevertheless.

Given that Ludwick apparently is a little "banged up" and given that Stubbs is better against LHP, I wouldn't mind seeing the Reds acquire a LHH who can play both positions and spell both Ludwick and Stubbs.

Will be interesting to see the Reds' plans for Drew.
