Meanwhile in Pittsburgh the Pirates are up 1-0 after 6. Bedard has only allowed 1 hit.

The run they scored was a joke. McCutchen blooped a single to center and Chris Young basically walked up to it, dropped the ball after it bounced, and McCutchen attempted to take second. A good throw had McCutchen, but Young threw it away and he took third. Scored on a ground ball to SS.

You "see it coming" every time he's on the mound, just as every time Homer is on the mound and every time Leake is on the mound. At some point, it just starts to get old. It's one thing to be pessimistic, but these game threads sometimes take pessimism to a whole other level.

The Reds aren't even playing like pooh. They're about to lose back to back games. This is baseball, was that not going to happen the rest of the year?

But of course. Since the beginning of time, it's always the coach or manager's fault. It was also Hutchinson's fault for losing the 61 series and Jack McKeons fault the Reds didn't win in 2000. Even Sparky caught heat.

Youre right. We should all sing kumbaya all game and when the reds fail, go kick the dog instead of post our frustrations on a forum patrolled by the happy police.

Well, I've been here a long time too...maybe you are right. The game threads are fun and shouldn't be regulated. Just gets a little tiring when one or two seem to be overly sky is falling when one or two things negative occur.

I watch the games in a vacuum. Expectations are raised when they are doing this well so when I see Bruce looking like a middle schooler or Stubbs stare at 2 BBs down the middle and then flail at a slider in the dirt I get annoyed and will be more critical than in season when they suck hard and I don't expect them to play at a higher level.

In the end, I like to be more sarcastic than "sky is falling" though. The happy police is probably as annoying to this thread as the debbie downer ones.

ANYWAYS.... The Reds have definately looks more competent this inning so I'll save my sarcastic criticism until Cairo gets up. :D

Well he likes him fourth for a good reason, because he's been crazy productive there. But I do agree, with Ludwick's resurgence, now is as good a time as any to make the switch. But, is BP's calf healthy enough for Dusty to want to hit him leadoff?
