What a shot in the arm this kid has been. Doesn't seem to thrive when he starts (at least not that I've seen on those rare occasions) but has delivered in a pinch time and time again. I also love how pumped he was after the triple, and how pumped the team was when he crossed the plate for the winning run.
This team is having fun and it's a blast to watch them. Very happy for a guy like Xavier who has been an unlikely catalyst in the second half.
You can say that again. Might have to check the game logs to really appreciate just how much he's contributed in key situations.

Amazing what a decent left handed hitter can do against a right handed pitcher. Lets go get another one.

Paul has been great compliment...my concern is when Votto comes back is Paul going down or Cairo get waived...it is obvious the best player, but I have a hunch reds go with Cairo.

Walt will work it out so that neither Paul goes down or Cairo gets DFA'd. I'd guess Lecure or Ondrusek get optioned and the bullpen goes short for a week or so until September 1.
Cairo may be DL'd as well, as his hammy may be bothering him ;).

Votto's not coming back before September, so it doesn't matter.

Would only be until the first of the month.

put Cairo on the DL(he would still be playoff eligible), and call up Billy..... Frazier more than covers for the loss of Valdez, and Billy can be used as needed.(much like Cairo has done)

This
Why rush him anyway? We need him completely 100 percent before coming back.

Pretty good find for the Reds given he was someone that was basically picked up off the scrap heap. He's played really well.
He's faster than I ever thought he was too.

More credit to Walt.
While many were scrambling to find assistance for our bench, etc., Walt had already obtained the player. It's not luck. There are hundreds of moves and "non"-moves that Walt makes every year, where one move sets up another sets up another sets up another. A Xavier Paul, who Walt was very aware of being in his prime 27-28 year age, had the very real possibility of putting together a stretch where he contributes significantly to the team.
Kudos to Walt!
