I really don't see why the Cards aren't winning more with that lineup.

Tom Servo

Not to turn this into a Dusty bashing but man, it's not a great sign when you look at the lineup, think the names in it are exactly right...and then realize your two weakest bats are hitting 1st and 2nd. :(

Imagine how Dusty would look with that lineup and a 7 game deficit in the standings.

Cozart's numbers over the last month reflect anything but a weak hitter. In fact, his OPS in that period is 130 points higher than Phillips'.

You want Hanigan to lead off? Not many managers would hit the slowest man on the team in the lead off spot. How many catchers lead off. It's not just Dusty.

The team lacks natural table setters. I've complained about this personnel all year, but Walt is pretty sharp. Maybe he realized that in this division, these ballparks, power is the key and consistent power through the lineup is most important.

Forget the batting order, the correct guys are playing, let's get a win.

2-0 Brewers lead Pirates in the fourth.

This is one of the 23 games I identified as "easier" for the Pirates because the Brewers are so weak on the road. If the Crew can win it, that's a nice plus for the Reds.

K for Latos.

Walt says Devin will be available for post-season even though he won't be back before the 1st. I don't get that, but this is not the time to discuss.

Well, sort of...

Ludwick flies out.
Bruce singles to right.
Frazier pop singles to shallow right.
Rolen doubles down the right field line, Bruce score.
Hanigan intentionally walked.
Latos Ks swinging.

Yeah, I don't agree, Reds have five runs, the pitcher hit in many of those innings.

What happened here is Latos lost it. He didn't have six innings in him tonight. That's really too bad, he's supposed to be a horse, he can't fade in the sixth.

It's on Mat just as it was on Johnny last night.
