I think that series against the Reds earlier in the month took a lot out of the Pirates. They took the last one of that series but it seemed like they came in with a chip on their shoulders and the Reds knocked it right off by winning the first two. They've been struggling ever since.

I'm fine with Arroyo coming back out to face 6-7-8. There is no one down there I trust in a 1 run game right now not named Chapman or Marshall.

Good job by Bronson. I imagine with Broxton and Chapman well-rested, that will be it for Arroyo.

Nah, Dusty may march him out for the 7th and let him pitch until someone reaches.

I'd becshocked if our pen can hold them in the 7th and 8th.

Bronsn's on a short leash, but I'm not convinced he's done for the night.

Probably up to him, he's very frank when he's had it.

Ziegler, the Reds' nightmare pitcher, is still out there. He's a nightmare because righties can't hit him and the Reds are almost all righties.

He was fine, still learning the ropes but with a lot of potential. But the Cubs preferred to shell out massive gobs of money to guys like Jason Marquis and put them in the rotation and Marshall didn't have a spot.

Strikeouts aren't the only thing that defines a pitcher.

I think some people are taking missing bats to an extreme religion these days. It's been proven that you can be successful without striking guys out at a prodigious pace. All things being equal, I like guys that miss bats too. But I also like guys that keep the ball down.
