Just another POSITIVE thread here for people to ruminate over on a lazy off-day Thursday morning.

1) Leads the league in ERA - 2.70
2) Leads the league in saves - 47
3) Leads the league in batting average against - .219
4) Lowest OBPA - .301
5) Lowest OPSA - .638
6) Second lowest SLGA - .337
7) Lowest WHIP - 1.21
8) Highest K/9 - 10.01
9) Second fewest IP - 366.2 (well-rested for postseason)
10) Third highest K/BB - 2.74

And all those comeback wins? In the last three innings (bullpen time) the Reds have scored 200 runs. The bullpen has given up just 135. Huge.

Those are very comforting numbers with the post season approaching, assuming we get in. Pitching like we have can shut down any lineup, which it has been doing all season. Even one like Texas. Booyah!!

In the recently completed series against Philadelphia the bullpen was, dare I say, immaculate? I would label that a SHUTDOWN!!! performance.

IP 10.2 H 1 ER 0 BB 1 K 10 HR 0

If you go back through the last three series (9 games) the numbers look like this.

IP 24.1 H 7 ER 3 BB 4 K 24 HR 1 ERA 1.11

I'm not too worried about anyone from the AL, all the best teams are in the NL

Last year the best teams were in the AL......the worst NL team won it all.

Im not worried at all about the pitching......If we can't score, more than 3 runs, we ain't gonna win, kaka. This team cannot manufacture runs, to save their life. That is what wins..................period.

And the NL team still won. AL may have the hitting but pitching and defense is all in the NL

Every time someone makes a post like this whatever is getting the love goes bad. We had it with Drew, the defense, Todd and now the pen.
