View Full Version : Poll: Where do the Pirates finish?

Mods if you can poll this that'd be excellent.

Flashback to the All Star Break, the Pirates are in first place in the NL Central and quite frankly I was scared they might be the best NL Central team.

Today, the Pirates are barely over .500 and as of right now are in 4th place behind the Brewers.

While I feel bad for Pirates fans, I also find their total collapse kinda funny. Though I'd rather see them in instead of the Cards, at this point I'd love to the Brew Crew take the final WC from St. Louis.

So where do YOU think the Pirates will finish.

1. Over .500 and in the postseason
2. Over .500 but miss the postseason
3. Under .500 and in the postseason
4. Under .500 but miss the postseason
5. 81-81 and in the postseason
6. 81-81 but miss the postseason
Based on nothing other than a guess, I think they will barely finish above .500 but miss the playoffs.

And I would bet at the beginning of the year Pirates fans would've gladly taken this. But honestly at the ASB I thought there was almost no way Pittsburgh would have another losing season.

What do you guys think?

I will say over .500 but miss the postseason, but with the way they are going wouldn't be shocked to see them keep tanking but gotta hope they get over .500.

Would be sick for their fans to think they had legit shots at the playoffs in back-to-back years only to blow that chance and then not even manage to finish over .500 for the first time since 1992, and to add insult to injury they lost in the NLCS 3 years in a row the last two in 7 games before falling into a two decade long tailspin after losing Bonds.

I may come across as bitter or a jerk, but I've dealt with too many obnoxious Steelers fans with awful sportsmanship to care anything about the fan base of any Pittsburgh team.

I realize that often times, these Steeler fans are from Cincinnati, Dayton, Lexington, Indianapolis, West Virginia, or Illinois. I've actually had some encounters with some very cordial Steeler fans from Pittsburgh and elsewhere.

But I have come across so many awful Steelers fans in total that I assume enough of them are from that city to justify my severe dislike.

I hope they go 20 more years without a winning season.

This. I can't bring myself to root for any team from that city. I live in PA surrounded by Pittsburgh fans. Baseball has been fun this year to say the least.

I've added the requested poll to this thread; for future reference, this can be done when starting a new thread.

In a state of abject misery and depression, fruitlessly going over all the things they could have done differently, but did not.
