Sitting Bruce against the lefty. As good a time as any to get him one last day off. Nice to see Ludwick back in there. I hope they go all out for the last three against the Cards and get in a bit of a groove going into the post season.

Bruce has been historically putrid vs. Wandy. And in a fair number AB's.

Lineup change....

The Reds made a lineup change. Ryan Ludwick scratched because of the wet ground. Ludwick is fine and could pinch-hit. “It’s not the best out there for a groin,” acting manager Chris Speier said):

Brandon Phillips 4
Wilson Valdez 6
Joey Votto 3
Todd Frazier 9
Chris Heisey 7
Miguel Cairo 5
Drew Stubbs 8
Ryan Hanigan 2
Johnny Cueto RHP

That was just strange. Rain delay, they don't bother with the tarp, then they discuss it with the managers and bring everybody back out. Rain delay of like 3 minutes. Weird.

I think the Reds are sending a message with their handling of the lineups down the stretch here. It depends what your goal is. If your goal is to get Cueto 20 wins, then yes you play your starters today. If your goal is to win the World Series, you try to get as many players as possible in a groove. You let the bench guys play a bit and let the starters rest up for the playoffs. A hot hitting bench can be a huge difference maker in the post-season. I think we're fine.

Can this season end fast enough so the playoffs can start......beacuse every day it's someone sitting, someone hurt. I never knew trying to get ready for the playoffs for 3 weeks....could be so annoying for your favorite team.

I'm watching the game and your friend's report looked accurate to me. Phillips went from first to third and looked like he was hurt. He might have been acting a little, but he was holding his thigh and I was concerned.

I even thought he jogged home on the Votto hit.

Then he comes out on defense like everything is ok.

So give your friend a break, I think he was trying to give an accurate report.
