He did have the surgery, he just had them use his own tissue instead of a cadaver ligament. Pretty standard choice. :dunno:

but isn't the cadaver ligament the exact ligament that was torn? Seems like that is the surgery done but most sports Ortho surgeons

Well, Bud tries to screw things up, but the two best teams in the NL take care of business and make it a moot point.

That was fun. When it was 4-0, while you never chalk one up, there never was a feeling of being threatened. The five run rally to make it a laugher is deserving payback for the cheering of Cueto's injury last night.

And I'm not done with the Giants fans yet. They're towel waving for a reliever pitching in the 9th of a 9-0 game and continued it in the bottom of the 9th? Have they been studying Cubs' fans?

Joey's 2nd hit was a good sign, ball got deep, late in the count and he stings it into left field.

Ludwick's homer was huge to say "here we go again boys, we're going home 2-0."

Finally, you know your bullpen is deep when you're bringing in an arm like Hoover to mop up. I hope that will pay dividends throughout the postseason, we might need him to get an out or two, or give us an inning at some point. Arredondo was in the only time I want to see him--with a 9 run lead.

Left my phone by my bed last night when I turned in. Woke up around 2 a.m. and was pleased to see we'd won 9-0. A bit later my wife stirred and I rolled over and told her. What a great marriage we have - she was just as happy as I was. Then back to sweet slumber with visions of moving on in the playoffs!

Great game! Well...not a great game in a "baseball contest" sense but a great game for the Reds.

To me, the star of the past two games has been the defense.

Love that defense!

I like to go back and read the opposing team's paper and their account of a game. Here's what the San Francisco Chronicle wrote about yesterday's game:

Arroyo skunked the Giants with his array of offspeed pitches thrown at every imaginable angle. Reds pitchers won with brute force in Game 1 then dropped a velvet hammer in Game 2.

The story also noted that no team has won three games on the road to come back from an 0-2 deficit and, further, that the Reds have not been swept at home this year, nor have we lost three in a row at home either.

Arredondo can't do anything easily. Already 26 pitches

This guy is basically useless right now besides games like this. They already have Simon for games like this. It's going to be a bullpen of 3 guys, LeClure and then Hoover. Jose will be persona non grata pretty soon.
