Have you seen his throws? He looks like he's throwing with his opposite hand.

I know. Agassi infuriated his coaches with his swinging half volleys -- until they realized it was working.

Even Latos' waste pitches are good today.

Sorry. I mean when he advanced to the net, he would take full swings rather than crouch and punch the ball. Fundamental tennis skill.

Didn't he have a weave or a toupee before he finally punted and shaved it all off?

reds44

Latos seriously has video game stuff right now. His control is so good that when he gets ahead he can just nibble around the strike zone until he has to throw a strike. He can put the ball wherever he wants right now.

Agreed. At this point, he only needs the waste pitches to change eye levels or to try to get hitters chasing something just barely outside the zone. No sense in truly wasting anything with his control.

You know, maybe this is what does it for him and he comes back next year more mature. A good team will take something out of this and build on it.

Dusty is not on the mound or in the batter's box.

Nope but he choses who is. Games 3 AND 4 he blew it. That lead to all the comments by Jay. The reactions by the fans and now a huge NATIONAL scar of the Reds image. A HUGE scar in the fanbase. Walt has a real decision to make now.

Building for next year is Pirates talk. Next year never comes.

They won't get 30 starts out of all 5 pitchers next year. They won't stay healthy in the everyday 8.

This isn't the 70s. There is no tomorrow for small market teams the majority of the time.

His immaturity? What about his inability to make pitches?

His emotional immaturity (fits on the mound) is the reason he loses his focus and can't make pitches.

I really think it comes down to the team's Achilles heel -- plate discipline. Cain was far from dominant in the first two frames, but our hitters were swinging at everything. That's a fundamental flaw with the "aggressive" hitting approach, and I think it's fixable.

See if Jay Bruce enjoys losing in an empty house more.

I think everyone should stay and give them a standing ovation when they lose. It will make him feel better for choking.

That's pretty subjective. It's not Baker's fault that Cueto went down. Some stated they should have started Latos last night. Really? And if he imploded like he did today then where would that leave us for game 5?

The team ran into bad luck at the worst time. They also played the last few weeks as if they just needed to show up to the park and win. That does reflect on the manager and staff to a degree.

I like Dusty, but it is hard to ignore 1-10.

Side note: I don't believe in bean ball, but they just hit the heart of the team after laying a GS on the Reds. Time for a Giant to take one in the ribs.
