It would not surprise him if Lou Pinella was a possible backup plan to mange the Reds if Baker isnt brought back. He saw him at the casino playing Golf for Marty's Charity work and he looked great and said he felt the best he has in along while and John felt without asking, he would want to get back into managing.. John Eraldi felt Lou will manage again. He didnt ask him about the Reds...
Wouldnt bother me at all!!! :)

I do like the possibility.
He is 69 years old though.

He's probably just a place holder for a few years until David Bell is ready.
Did a great job of quitting when things got tough with Tampa and the Cubs

I've thought for years that Larussa would end up here due to his ties with Castellini and Jockety. My guess is that they know whether or not who they could replace Baker with and if they know they can sign someone better, they won't resign Dusty. Having said that, I fully expect Dusty to be back next year with a 2-year deal.

Would be curious to see what they get for Phillips and Cueto if La Russa is hired
