Depends on where Drew Stubbs is playing next year.

it's a nightmare coming true. the last thing to hope for is brook jacoby being replaced but I doubt it happens

I would've preferred 1 yr. I think this year was inconclusive, but he did enough to postpone his put up or shut up year to 2013.

I'm still OK with the deal though for 2 reasons.
A. I'm not sure he would've even accepted 1 yr so it might not have been an option.
B. Every managerial situation is reevaluated year to year anyway. If we don't make the playoffs in 2013, they can just fire him then.

2013 is absolutely his last chance. If we get a repeat of 2010 or 2012 he needs to go. Castellini said he would bring back championship baseball to Cincinnati and there are no more moral victories, learning experiences, whatever spins they put on disappointing seasons. That time is over, they're a playoff experienced team and winning is the only thing left for them to do. They've been eliminated in the 2 worst ways possible at this point.

I can live with Dusty coming back under one condition: Walt must Baker-proof the lineup.

1. Get rid of Stubbs
2. Acquire a legit leadoff hitter
3. Send Bray to Siberia
4. DFA Arredondo

I would have voted "I hate it!" if it weren't for the fact that the players seem to love him. I'd be slightly worried that they would have a chip on their shoulders or wouldn't perform 100% for a new manager. (Although they are professionals and should be above that.)

DFA Arredondo? Really?

Sure he still struggles with command, and struggled mightly in the playoffs.

BUT

In 66 Games in 2012:

61 IP, 2.95 ERA, 62 K's, and held Lefties to a .165 Batting Avg.

Son, 29 teams will kill for an arm like his. Plus he's pretty young at 28 years of age as well.

Anything to keep Dave Miley Jr or whoever from taking the reigns I am all for.

One of the reasons why I hate the extension.

Why should a GM ever have to "idiot-proof" a roster? Just pathetic, IMO.

Jacoby goes.
Stubbs goes.
Get a leadoff hitter.
Add SP insurance.

Wonder now if we should have let the Nats run away with the Number 1 seed and rested our SP's (namely Cueto).

I'm for it because he has done a good job even though I don't like him but I don't like it because Dusty is a DA. You have a son who is not even in MIDDLE SCHOOL and you are 63 and just had a STROKE! Retire and spend time with your son while you are healthy enough to do so. What I would like to see happen this year with this:
1. Goodbye Drew Stubbs
2. Goodbye Brook Jacoby Hello Billy Hatcher as hitting coach
3. Get who ever you want to take over for Baker as the manager in AAA
4. Get Todd Frazier 500 ABs
5. Get Chris Heisey 500 ABs
