Lets discuss.

1. The Miami Marlins are apperantly in "fire sale" mode and are looking to rebuild.

2. There owners and there entire organization seems to be clueless clowns.

3. Gin Carlo Stanton aka Mike Stanton tweeted that's he's very upset with the Marlins FO for committing this trade.

Now the Marlins have said BEFORE they aren't interested in trading Stanton..That said, I'm sure if the price is right they would probably bite the bullet (if the toronto mega deal is any indicator).

Now, we know the obvious. Stanton is a MEGA talent. 5 tool player, who had 37 bombs playing in a gigantic stadium in Miami. The stats he could produce in GABP would be nothing short of insane.

What if Bruce were to be involved?

Could a potential Bruce + Stephenson + Hamilton not get things done? If not at least stir up the pot?

Because, inserting a 1-2 punch of Votto and Stanton could be a thing of beauty to witness.

Not worth it, its going to take an absolute massive package to get him and his cheap contract out of Miami.

Yes. Duh. Obviously.

Any Reds fan who says no to this deserves to be laughed at.

I love Jay Bruce, but Stanton is arguably twice the player he is. And he's only getting better.

They aren't going to give him up for Bruce and Hamilton and anyone else we have to offer. He's the best power hitter in the game and makes no money at the league minimum. They will keep him until its expensive then deal him and still get a ton in return.

Bruce is owed a ton and hasn't shown he can hit away from GABP the Miami would want not part of him. Every single person in the world would want Stanton but the price to get him out of Miami now would be off the charts.

Bruce's contract is too big for them. Their payroll next years stands at 16 million right now

I was thinking the same thing last night. Everyone is focused on Stanton, but I doubt he's available for anything other than a massive package. Morrison had a rough year in 2012, but he was about an .800 OPS guy prior to that and is still just 25 next year. He seems to have fallen out of favor and may be available for a minimal return. The Reds could use another lefty bat, especially one who knows how to take a walk and has 20 HR power. He's also under team control for 3 more years.

If Miami ever were to consider trading Stanton (which they won't), expect to give up a lot more than that.

It would probably cost us Bruce, Hamilton, Cingrani, and another mid-level guy. At least. No thanks.

That's a very interesting and astute idea. Is Morrison's defense at least equal to Ludwig?

Uhm, No...

When it's a Fire Sale, it's a Fire Sale... That means, the FIRE SALE TEAM gets prospects back, they're not going to get core players back, because that's a "Baseball Trade" etc...

Not to mention Miami wouldn't take on Bruce's Salary...

Anyway...
