toronto is willing to trade bonfacio for the "right price"

can't imagine it would take all that much to get him. Plays solid d, stole 40 bases in 2011, hits for a respectable avg and obp. Would be a sure fire improvement to stubby, and wouldn't throw away the farm either.

They probably saw what the Twins fetched for Span and Revere and decided to strike while the price was sky high for CFers. I wouldn't give much for him, but would definitely like to have him.

Bonifacio doesn't really fix any of the Reds problems. He has speed to steal bases, good physical tools, but he still only has a .320 career OBP and is not the same outfielder Stubbs is. His numbers have been very flat for the few year he has been in the league. Not to mention he is basically the same age. It wouldn't make very much sense for us to give up any of our top level prospects in return when we aren't gaining a significantly better player than we already have. He is basically a reincarnation of Stubbs, which clearly hasn't worked out for us.

I am all for trading for a quality lead off CFer, but I do not think Bonifacio is the answer.
