I couldn't possibly choose a favorite!

I only like him when he's whispering or yelling. Fortunately, that's every role.

I would have pegged you as a City of Angels aficionado.

I always preferred Keanu Reeves myself :)

In hindsight, I wonder if his Uncle ever considered casting him in The Outsiders, he would have made a great "Soc" that you wanted to punch in the face.

His "hair" in Con Air is simply magnificent. So is his accent.

If I ever meet the person who made that movie, I am going to punch them directly in the throat.

I agree, Doug. That movie was so good that it's not fair to anyone. It's a masterpiece that raised the bar too high for other films to even have a chance to compete with.

That isn't exactly where I was going with it, but hey, if it means that you will also punch them in the throat if you meet them, then I am all for it.

His best recent film is Drive Angry. Great movie and his co-star is a major .... she's hot.

Seconded. That movie is just so gloriously bad, I can never look away when I run across it on TV. And there's no way he's the greatest actor in the world. Try greatest in the UNIVERSE.

I realize it's pertinent to bring up his drop-dead sexiness, but you have to keep in mind this is a family site. As the best actor of our generation (all-time?), I prefer to praise him only for his artistic integrity.

I realized one night, while watching Knowing for some inexplicable reason, that Nicholas Cage is the king of the "Watchably-Bad" movie -- he makes crap films, but I never feel compelled to change the channel when watching one.

He's great in his turn in Kick Ass too (although that's not a Cage vehicle) but I think his best recent flick is Bad Lieutenant...

I thought he was great as "Randy" in "Valley Girl."

Kind of interesting that Nic's birthday was so close to Elvis's, given his obsession with the King.

btw, I won't talk bad about Nic Cage for the same reason that Springsteen won't talk bad about Elvis. The early stuff more than makes up for what came later. In cage's case, one performance is enough--Raising Arizona. His narration alone is worth a whole career of dreck.
