Reds General Discussion 2026, Part 3
I find it simply amazing, considering the way this team has performed in May, that we're only 4.5 games back. But then, half of MLB teams are below .500.

When you have a couple LOUSY teams lke last year, you may have less than half the teams with below .500 records. 13 teams played below .500 ball in 2025, slightly less than half of all teams.

The NL Central has 5 teams with winning records. All the rest of MLB has 8 combined.

The Marlins have acquired outfielder Rece Hinds from the Reds and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville, according to his transactions tracker at MLB.com.
The Reds, who designated him for assignment a few days ago, receive right-hander Zach McCambley in return.
The Marlins will have to open a 40-man spot for Hinds to make this official. The logs also indicate that infielder Graham Pauley is being recalled. Per Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, infielder Leo Jimenez will hit the ten-day injured list, which opens a spot for Pauley. The 40-man move could be Griffin Conine or Robby Snelling moving to the 60-day IL.
More to come.

He will fit right in.

Zach McCambley is not a real person
Re: Reds General Discussion 2026, Part 3
McCamberliansonington walks a lot of guys, but looking at his career, I’m not sure if he walks them consistently enough to make the MLB roster.
He needs to go to Louisville and work on throwing balls and issuing free passes. If he does that, maybe he can get the MLB call at some point.

Mey, Maxwell, and Phillips are all younger, but are miles ahead on walking guys.
It’s gonna be tough for him to crack the roster if he doesn’t significantly worsen his walk rate. I’m sure he’ll try.

The best way to keep his walk rate up is to use him as a reliever.
If he starts there’s a risk his walk rate may decline.
Might show him videos of how some of Reds current relievers do it.
