Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
So he's on first anyway. Shoulda drilled him.

Homer Bailey gets the "French Army Non-Courage" award. Instead of plunkling Billingsly like a man, he gives up a hit to him. How incredibly weak. Way to protect your teammates Homer!
Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
Yeah did I miss somebody else get plunked earlier? I really doubt Billingsley was trying to drill him
Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
I know yesterday's loss hurt but man, you guys are acting like the world is ending.

It's about protecting your own guys. Billingsley might not go firing fastballs up and in so freely if he knows he's putting his own guys at risk.
Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
Dusty prob told him to not retaliate. He did't want to be in the national papers 3 times in a month.

I think they, and most, thought he had TOR stuff, and could be a TOR starter within 5 years....many even sooner.
He's serviceable as a #5 starter....but it continues to be a roller coaster ride for fans. His trade value continues to decline as well.
He has the occasional gem, and as a #5....that's nice.
He didn't reach his ceiling. But at least acknowledge how most first rounders turn out. It was never going to be a sure thing.
Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
Homer Bailey is a 'serviceable #5'? Man, talk about high standards. I think a lot of you guys need to take a look around baseball and see what other #5's are like.

This would be three times in a week, lol.

I think the ball just slipped out of his hand I don't think it was anywhere close to where Billingsley wanted it to go. It is like the offense is scuffling so badly you guys just want to start up something for entertainment.
Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
Bailey is a 4. Which is fine. He's just not very good.
Re: 7/2/12 Reds at Dodgers
Yep if it appears to be an accident no need to escalate.

It is. Ever see the Mayan calendar. This is our last chance :)
