You’re not wrong. But it’s a little more difficult than drafting #1 in multiple drafts with generational talents available - namely, Robinson, Duncan and Wemby. Orlando, also has been ridiculously fortunate in that regard. Hard to feel sorry for either franchise.

Don't sleep on Harper. That kid has some serious game. Brought along slowly (@23 min per game), but he was really good during the regular season. Before the draft, I was actually hoping he'd fall to the Sixers.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
McCollum has been great in this series against the Knicks. He's been great since he became a Hawk.
-
Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
MIN's DEF has dominated Jokic and DEN since the 2nd quarter of Game 2.
At this point, I think MIN wins this series and can face OKC and the refs in the next series.
The Joker has missed 26 of his last 34 shots.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
NAW - Nickeil Alexander walker wins NBA most improved. Congrats man. Avdija finished 2nd and Duren finished 3rd. I don’t understand how Avdija didn’t win, but NAW is a great guy, very calm and cool (so Canadian, I love that demeanor) and Twolves miss him. He just doesn’t make his three pointers consistently and has just an OK handle. But Atlanta are smoking hot and he is a key guy for them.
-
Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
NAW has been great. Watched him at UW and hoped the Blazers would draft him. Half a dozen teams acquired him and all thought he was a tweener...man without a position. But, he's just a winner and kept working hard until he became too valuable not to be on the floor. MIN was loaded and had tough personnel decisions to make. Glad Quin Snyder (who had him in UTA for a short time if I remember) has given him his chance. Most impressed with his improved Defense, especially when he was in MIN.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Turn out the lights, Irene. This party is over. Rockets were up by 6 points WITH the ball. And still lose. Kevin Durant can come back now, with his entire family, and it's not going to make a difference. The Rockets were looking for a big year at the start of the season, and are going to end up getting bounced in the first round. Now THAT is ugly.

Too many losses of key players.
Adams and VanVleet.
Traded away Brooks and Green.

Major choke job by the Blazers the past two games while the young Spurs collectively stepped up every game.
Lakers vs Spurs will be interesting if Reaves comes back.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Blazers will have 6 1st Round picks along with other assets to trade this Summer in order to add an impact player to go along with the core players of Deni Avdija, Donovan Clingan and Toumani Camara. I think everyone else is available (except Dame, who will finish out his career in Portland, but he's not a core player). I hope that Scoot Henderson is not available. I wouldn't lose any sleep over Sharpe being moved. I'd also love to keep Kris Murray and Sidy Cissoko. Krecki is on a good contract and his career 40% "3" point shooting is badly needed, and he's at the right age for this team, in addition to doing all of the little things. That's another I would try to avoid trading.
Will be an interesting Summer. The first move needs to be in the Spring by identifying who the Head Coach and the staff will be.

ORL's Starters are kicking the DET Starters' butts through 3 Quarters tonight.
Anthony Black shouldn't have played tonight (was questionable) as he's "-19" plus/minus through 17 minutes off the bench.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
The heavily short-handed Timberwolves have 3 games to finish off the Nuggets beginning in DEN in about 35 minutes. That's a tall task without DiVencenzo and Edwards. Their Team Defense has been excellent and that's where they'll hang their hats again.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Incredible performance by PHI.
The only shock is that Embiid performed so well in his 2nd game back. Each day buys them time to get better and better as this group hasn't played together all season. They'll have their downs as they get accustomed to each other. Just have to figure out a way to survive this 1st Round and win the next two games. Then they could afford to lose a few in a series and keep getting better.

71-22 Knicks at the 5:00 min mark of quarter 2. That's insane.

Halftime and the Hawks trail 83-36. AT HOME. Wonder if there is anybody left in the stands. Come on, Atlanta, show some pride.
Atlanta is still showing no backbone. 103-43.

What is going on in the NBA. Yesterday, Atlanta doesn’t even bother trying to compete from Quarter 1.
Today, Orlando has a 22 pt halftime lead and scores only 19 points in the entire second half, losing by 14.
Both teams looked so unprofessional at those times.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Hopefully, the Kentucky Derby does not interfere with this 76ers game. (Derby scheduled for 6:57pm on NBC. The start time depends on how quickly the horses get into their post positions)
Game 7: Philadelphia at Boston, May 2 (7:30 ET, NBC and Peacock)
Series tied 3-3

As Barkley stated, BOS has no Plan B. They just jack up 3-pt shots at will. If they aren't hitting them, then they lose. POR was 3rd in the NBA in 3-pt attempts and dead last in percentage. What brainstorm came up with that idea? Wembanyama stated that after playing against POR's vanilla style, it will be nice to actually play someone in the next round that could challenge him with intelligent designs on Offense.

This series win was huge for Philly. Beating Boston sends seismic waves through the Eastern conference. NUrse outcoached Mazzula. Embiid (sort of) played like an NBA star.
Now will they duplicate those things versus a very motivated Knicks team. Will Embiid turn into a little baby when Mitch makes it hard for him? Will bridges step up his game and make life for Maxey less than easy, or has he checked out of this year already?
I predict the EAstern conference will have all the attention for the next round. The West’s top two seeds will progress, whether with difficulty or not is immaterial. They both have deep rotations, and can win without their top star. All the eastern teams remaining have various insecurities to overcome. The good news is two of of the four will overcome them.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Anyone have a mop? Jaylen Brown's offseason has begun with a flood of salty tears. Brown, who was second in the NBA in offensive fouls against in the regular season, is mad that he kept getting called for pushing off during the Celtics first-round series. And despite the officials swallowing their whistles in Game 7 and allowing him to shove at will when he had the rock, he's calling for them to be investigated. I mean, I'm not entirely convinced that some refs shouldn't be, but when virtually your entire game inside the three point line is predicated upon WWE full-extention shoves to push your opponent into the ropes, maybe your grip on reality is a bit shaky? Brown is right that he's not the only guy who does it, but he's one of the two or three most egregious (and obvious) offenders in the entire league.
One would think that being called for 50 offensive fouls between the regular season (40) and playoffs (10) would be a sign that you need to work on your handle or develop some other method to create your own shot. The fact is that you got what you got because you did what you do, Mr. Brown. To be clear, Sixers fans aren't really mad about Brown's whining. We find it delightful.
Who had the most offensive fouls in the NBA regular season this year? Karl Anthony Towns, with a whopping 65. Up next, I guess.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Let’s go Knicks.
I think the first round only affirmed what many thought of the East all season: it’s wide open. I think all four teams have a chance to put it all together and go on a run.

No idea about this Knicks/Sixers series. I am expecting a lot of arguing and whining from both sides.

I dunno, the Pistons look a bit broken. It took a Franz Wagner injury to get them into the second round as 1-seed. Cavs have a lot more playoff experience and their scoring versatility could be too much for Detroit.
Cavs in 7.
Knicks in 6.
Wolves in 7.
Thunder in 5.

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Yeah, when the home team shoots around 70%/60% deep into the third quarter, you just sort of chuckle, tip your cap, and move on to game 2.
