No Homer. You're right. You managed to figure out that I condone what Pete Rose did, and that I think that women always lie about being raped. And you didn't even need your jump to conclusions mat to get there. Good work!
How'd you get such a clear, thoughtful mind? Must be all that sex you've had stud.

If you want to draw an arbitrary line, just make it 18 like most everything else.
I have six kids, including four daughters, and I think you are a raving lunatic. So there's that.
I hope all the people who bought baseballs for Pete's statue feel really stupid right now.

You've tried outright lies, misrepresentations, faulty reading comprehension and absurdity, so now is the time when the memes and the deflective jokes come out.
This is how you know whoever (or in this case 6-8 whoevers) you're debating has nothing left.

I'm pretty sure you can't explain why, and I can definitely prove that I'm not, but what you think is irrelevant to me, so there's that.

I stated a 40 year old teacher having sex with her 14 year old student is rape and you responded by definitively saying the majority of people don't view it as such. I asked where you were drawing that conclusion from, which your response was "don't be a moron, of course I'm not basing it on anything factual" (paraphrasing). And I am the one being absurd?
Ok, Trace.

It's because your assumptions and assertions are all over the map, and when someone disagreed with you, you said they must not have kids. There is no such thing as a typical 12 year old, 15 year old, or 18 year old. They are all different and have different levels of maturity. So to say that 12 to 13 is massive, and 15 to 16 is not, well, that's plain dumb.

No you asked for "polls and data" That's absurd.
Again, when you hear on the news "man charged with rape" you don't think of consensual sex with young and older people. You think of a forced violent act. And again, for the 100th time, I'm not arguing the legality or Miriam Webster, I'm arguing what the term rape actually means to most people in reality, and it's not the situation you described.
Think of it this way, a person who smokes weed every day is, by clinical terms, a drug addict. Yet people aren't thinking of a daily weed smoker when they hear the term "drug addict."
Re: Pete Rose Committed Statutory Rape (according to court docs)
Pete's defense for this is going to be that he thought she was 16. Sounds like he's going to admit that he "saw her" for a long time.
This is not about convicting him for a crime. It's really about PR and his civil case.
Two things come to mind:
Pete, why even bring this case up? What did you expect to gain?
Pete, you're the studly Pete Rose. Why do you need to resort to teenagers? Can't you get just about whatever babe you want? This makes me think you weren't as in demand with the women as we thought.

I don't think you should be speaking for everyone.

You don't know what I think when I hear "rape" on the news. Believe it or not there have been a lot of studies done on rape, the idea that you had read an article on the subject and saw some data is really not absurd.
I have a friend that is an Econ professor. All he does is pour over raw data and write articles about what he learns. How you think the idea you were basing a thought, especially on such a serious subject, off something you had learned instead of your own brand of common sense is beyond me. I was actually attempting to see where you were coming from. I suppose I got my answer.
The weed anecdote is about as apples and oranges as it gets, so I'm not going to engage on it.

Uh no. Again...failed reading comprehension.
What I said was there's a massive difference between kids aged 12-13 and kids aged 15-16. There's this thing called puberty. Maybe you've heard of it? Bodies, minds, wants, desires all change rapidly and exponentially.
I obviously do agree that each kid is different and matures at different levels, but going from 15 to 16? On average? Not much. Nothing compared to the ages Doug (and it was he who mentioned it. Not me) brought up.

Are you insinuating that this guy had trouble attracting high class ladies?

LOL you want to talk about apples/oranges?
"I have this econ professor friend who pours over data and writes papers" How many papers has he written on the subject of what people relate the term rape with? Maybe he has an equally diligent friend that has. That way you could still say "I have a friend of a friend who's an Econ professor that pours over data and..." Gold Jerry gold! LOL
And yeah, I'm sure you don't want to discuss the drug addict analogy because it's "apples oranges" What exactly is "apples/oranges" about it? Not what each specific term is as far as severity or level of heinous, but what different terms mean to most people when they hear them? That's the point. Ever hear the term "cop out?" What do you think most people think of when they hear that term? LOL Good stuff my man. Good stuff.

he's still going lol
(there's a sex joke in there)
