Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
With Cade Cunningham's collapsed lung likely to keep him out at least until the 2nd Round, I would place them as underdogs against whoever they are likely to face in the 1st round....the red-hot Atlanta Hawks, the hot Charlotte Hornets, the Heat or the Magic (also have been playing well even with injuries, and they are likely to get Franz and Black back for the 1st Round, Black much sooner). Even PHI would be a likely loss if the 76er's could return some key players who have been out (Maxey and Embiid, who has been upgraded for the Kings game).
With the real possibility of DET being knocked out of the 1st Round in the East, the Conference Championship series is wide open for the other 9 Seeds. Keep in mind though, during the eight games that Cunningham has missed this season (he'll be ineligible for any post-season awards having been 5 games short of qualifying), the Pistons still had a +2.7 point differential in those games. Jalen Duren has been beasting all season and is getting even better during the playoff push. He's a Super Star at this point of his career.

In the NBA east, 2 1/2 games separate the 6th to 10th seeds.
NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
Local boy Luke Kennard drained a 3 pointer at the buzzer, to give the Lakers a one point win last night over Orlando. He finished with 13 points and 3 rebounds, in 20 minutes

Luka got his 16th Technical (should probably have 116 just for whining), and with that an automatic suspension. Very likely he earns suspension(s) during the playoffs.

The 10 Best and 10 Worst moves in the NBA over the past 12 months...
Let's cut to the chase.
The #1 Worst Move in the NBA over the past 12 months...
1. Milwaukee Bucks waive and stretch Damian Lillard to sign Myles Turner
Why it's on the list: Milwaukee took the biggest risk of any team last offseason, when it waived the injured Lillard and stretched the remaining $113 million on his contract to acquire Turner in free agency. Turner signed a four-year, $108.9 million deal to replace Brook Lopez next to Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Bucks' frontcourt.
That two-step hasn't worked out in the short term: In his first season away from Indiana, Turner has posted the worst player efficiency rating of his career and his worst box plus/minus since he was a rookie. And the Bucks will finish with their first losing record in a decade, as the Antetokounmpo rumors swirl more than ever before.
In the long term, moreover, stretching Lillard means the Bucks will pay $22.5 million in dead cap charges every season through 2029-30, severely compromising their ability to build a winner during that period.
Portland couldn't be happier to get Lillard (and Holiday) back as Leader and Mentor for $15M this season and next on a team already better than MIL right now (and rising fast), even with an interim Head Coach. And then there's those 1st Round picks!
Is there any hope? Theoretically, Turner could rebound next season and serve as a proper stretch big next to Antetokounmpo, and the Bucks could return to contention on the strength of that duo.
But the Bucks made a desperate gamble when they sacrificed so much long-term flexibility to sign him. And desperate gambles don't often pay out.

With 11 games to go for most teams, the field is tighter than ever before.
"Down the stretch they come!"

An extremely healthy Paul George returns for PHI Wed. Embiid could also play. PHI in good shape thanks to current long losing streaks by MIA and ORL.
Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
There have only been 2 recorded 20/20/20 games in NBA history. One each by Wilt Chamberlain (22/25/21) an Russell Westbrook (20/20/21). Throught 3 quarters tonight, Nikola Jokic has (21/17/17).

Re: NBA 25-26 - And so it begins..
I don't think I've seen a team close out an OT with a 15-0 run to win by 2 as MIN did vs HOU tonight. Adding insult, KD chokes with 3 seconds left able to send the game to Double OT by missing the 1st Free Throw. MIN probably would have scored anyway with 3 seconds left, but you knever know.
PG13 had himself a game.

2 games now. My 76ers a half game out for that all important 6 seed to avoid the “play-in”.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The NBA is taking a major step toward expansion this week — and Las Vegas is right at the center of it.
League owners voted to approve NBA expansion teams in both Las Vegas and Seattle on Wednesday, ESPN reported. This vote now allows for the league to explore bids and applicants for the new teams.
While it’s not the final green light for new teams just yet, it’s widely seen as the most significant progress the league has made in years, starting the process of expanding to 32 teams.
And that’s key — because the NBA hasn’t expanded in more than two decades.
The last time the league added a franchise was in 2004, when the Charlotte Bobcats (now the Hornets) joined the NBA. That means this week’s vote marks the first real step toward expansion in more than 20 years — a long-awaited shift for a league that has grown globally in popularity and valuation

Just disgusting what the Pacers and Jazz did tonight. Blatantly, intentionally tried to lose.
And why? Lost Halilburton for the year, so you just give up? And at the same time expect to be rewarded with a top 5 pick?
And the Jazz have been trying to lose for theee years straight. And expect to be rewarded with a top 5 pick?

The Pacers had their starters in the game at crunch time. Not sure how you reached the conclusion of them attempting to lose on purpose.
