This franchise is heading in the right direction.
And I owe Walt Jocketty and Bob Castellini one hell of a huge apology.
Agree. I'm right with you there.
Has there been any discussion about Chapman's mechanics? I watched the youtube video and he looks great, but I'm not really an expert in that area.

WIP, nothing really hard to correct. That seems to be the consensus.

I will say that it was about time, well, past time to do something significant.
In this market and in the path that this team needed to take, it is difficult to make significant moves for the long-term.
Besides the draft, how else can you get long-term talents for not obscene money? Especially in a market where teams are hording young talent and not looking to take on payroll.

It appears Chapman's deal is for six years instead of five as originally reported. Even better.

I'm a little nervous about the incentives part of this till the details are set. This deal works for me because Chapman can "outperform" the contract. Hopefully they didn't give that away.

Wolford was a funny looking dude. I got a Royals yearbook one year when I went to a game there and they had pics of players and their families. I broke out in laughter when I saw his pic.

Honestly, I'm hoping he hits every incentive in the deal. They can figure the financing out at a later date. Give me a superstar LHP on the Reds mound any day of the week.

Chapman is now showing up on the Reds 40-man roster.

He was in every pack of 1976 Topps cards I ever bought. When we played "card toss," every toss had to have an introduction. His was "Jim 'Homely' Wolford."
