120. One of my favorite bangers from the 80's. A band that I regret not being able to see live. Great front man. The song was co-written by the band's lead singer, with help from David Foster and Toto's , Steve Lukather. Toto's Lukather, David Paich, and Bobby Kimball all played and contributed on this track, which peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached #1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

The inspiration for the song's lyrics came about as a result of an encounter the lead singer had at a peep show booth, where he put a dollar into a machine that read, "Pay a Dollar, Talk to a Naked Girl." He put in his dollar, out of curiosity, and proceeded to try to have a genuine conversation with the scantily-clad woman. The attempt at a real conversation went no where. The woman just kept repeating, "Hey baby, come on in. We'll take care of you." The original lyrics included the words "naked girl," but David Foster insisted on changing it to the less offensive "pretty girl."

The young boy in the music video was Robert Arquette, who later became a well-known actress , Alexis Arquette.

Jessi Colter - I’m Not Lisa

I swore this was on the Outlaws compilation album with Waylon and Willie and Colter and others. But I didn’t see it on the track listing.

120 - Even White Punks on Dope know the answer to this one. She's a Beauty by the Tubes. I had their live album at one point in time, but somehow it slipped through my hands. I never got to see them live, but if this album was any indication, they put on one heckuva show.

I can only imagine what a blast it would have been to see these guys live in San Francisco in the early 80's. These dudes were flat out wild and crazy and put on a very entertaining show . Fee Waybill was second to none as a charismatic front man. Good band.

A old college roommate took me to see The Tubes at Cleveland Public Hall or Music Hall (I can’t remember which) late 70’s some time. I didn’t know anything about them. We got really drunk and the show was insane. They did the whole Quay Lewd and White Punks on Dope. Wish I could remember it better. I was in the middle of getting divorced and stayed drunk for about 6 months.

131. This song will forever will be linked with the # 4 . It was the summertime , 44 years ago. I had just completed my 4th semester of college at Eastern KY University. This band had just released its first single off its 13th studio album. It debuted at an impressive #33 on the Billboard Hot 100. After 4 weeks it had climbed into the top 10. On the week ending July 24, the song settled in at #4 on the Hot 100. And there it stayed...and stayed...and stayed, until September 4. The song remained at #4 for an incredible seven consecutive weeks! That is unheard of, especially back in the 80's. The vocals were famously recorded with the studio windows open at the Chateau d'Herouville in the French countryside. The song's video was inspired by Belgian surrealist painter, Rene Magritte , and shot in the Mohave Desert. The video shoot turned out to be notoriously difficult, with reports of bandmembers at each others throats( not a shocker) , alcohol-fueled tension(also not a shocker), and conflicts over the uncomfortable, hot desert environment.

Wasted on the Way - Crosby, Stills and Nash. I am not 100% positive this is the answer, but I do remember this song was heavily played throughout the Summer of 1982.

Ok. Looking back at the clues, I highly doubt CSN had released 13 albums by 1982. But I had forgotten that I had once owned what I believe to be the album in question. So I am going to go with Hard To Say I’m Sorry - Chicago….Final Answer.

The songbird referenced must be Christine McVie. I think she had a relationship with Dennis Wilson.

But I don’t know what the song title is. I kinda fell off the Fleetwood Mac bandwagon after Tusk (and I really didn’t like Tusk all that much).

Dang. It has to be Hold Me - Fleetwood Mac in that case. Gypsy wasn’t a hit until that Fall of 1982 - My Freshman Year of High School. In any case, you (Roy) deserve all of the credit here.

Ahh. I got you in the neighborhood. You drove us home.

The only song I liked off Tusk was Sara. That’s my ex-wife’s name and around the time of Tusk, I was finally getting ok with being divorced and that song kinda seemed about that. And a recent coda to that… Sarah and I still text every so often about random life events. She just told me she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I felt badly for her. Even though she screwed me over about as badly as any human can to another human being, she was still a big part of my early life and in a weird way, she still. has a place in my heart. I told her I’m always there for her but I doubt she’ll take me up on it.
