hmmm. spitballing here......I'm pretty sure the Boston album would be prior to 77. Hotel California was from that era, but I suspect they had a #1 prior to that. I remember Dark Side of the Moon set sales records but that would be earlier.
That leaves Fleetwood Mac's Rumors with Stevie Nicks singing Dreams as the feature. Pretty sure they didn't have a #! prior to Dreams. From your text I'm surprised they didn't have a #1 after Dreams, but I can't point to another song that I'm SURE was a #1.

I loved the song '29' by the Gin Blossoms. I played that cd to its literal death. My cd had a different cover than that. Mine is the original cover before the cd broke big. The second was a marketing ploy by the record company in an effort to familarize the public with the band members.
It's truly a shame about Doug Hopkins. He simply wrote great songs, both lyrics and music. Drugs are evil.
“29” has long been my favorite song from that album. Second favorite was probably “Allison Road”. Definitely a shame about Hopkins. What might’ve been.Quote:
