But will KC now be more likely to take Downs?

I don't like the idea of a first round CB but I also wouldn't be surprised by it either.

CTB is a free agent right now, and I don't agree Dax Hill is a bust as long as they keep him at outside CB.
I think Downs is definitely still in play at ten if he's available, especially with Battle a free agent next year.

I expect Turner and Hill to be extended.
I'll be surprised if CTB is with the team next year.
If they shore up the rest of the D, I have no qualms about a BPA corner selection. I just don't trust the front office to shore up the rest of the D.

So does this mean we get no compensation for losing Trey?
Re: 2025 Cincinnati Bengals Part 3: Can the Defense Get a Stop?
PFF loves Bryan Cook. 4th overall safety last year, 83.5 rating. Played college ball at UC.

Most likely that but won't be known until free agent spending is done, at the earliest. The Bengals have enough needs and cap space that they shouldn't at all worry about losing the potential comp pick next year.

Boye Mafe, 27 year old edge, 46th/115 for PFF and a 69.2 grade. Super Bowl Champion obviously, always good to bring more winning culture.
2 sacks, but 36 hurries, which was 15th overall in the league. Played college ball at Minnesota. Pretty fast, ran a 4.53 40 at his combine. 2nd round pick by the Seahawks in 2022.

Wow, the Bengals are off to a flying start in free agency. Nice.

Like you say it hadn’t happened yet. You are a weird dude. Happy with the signing as well as Mafe. Thanks for the post.

There's a very good possibility that the best deal Trey H was going to get was the one the Bengals offered last year.
