To be honest, I don't know if he would fit with Pitino either.
You are being kind, WVRed. I think Dakotah Euton was an awful signing for UK.
IMO, that will be another case of addition by subtraction.

He was signed too young, but he had the potential to be a top player. I just don't see him on that stage though.
Re: University of Kentucky Basketball
I actually think Euton would have been a very, very nice 4 year role player in BCG's system.
Under Cal, it is a complete mismatch and he will not attend UK.
Zollo, on the other hand, I think some folks are writing off a bit too quickly. He has the ability to end up as a top 50 player in his class. He is/was projected to grow to nearly seven feet. I think Cal will--obviously--be watching him closely over the next year.
Re: University of Kentucky Basketball
The one who I'm really salivating over is Dom Ferguson. He will be a monster in Cal's DDMO.

This is kind of a dry article (and six pages long), but it does explain the Dribble Drive Motion offense:

Re: University of Kentucky Basketball
I hope John Wall does go to Kentucky.
John Wall is Stephon Marbury, Version II. All the talent in the world and a special player but a selfish me-first guy.
There is a reason North Carolina never went ever Wall and an even bigger reason Coach K just started (he is tired of getting his butt kicked not only by UNC but not being able to get to the Elite 8) even though this is an in-state kid.
Plus Wall is a one and done kid. Careful what you wish for....
Re: University of Kentucky Basketball
Xavier Henry is going to take a visit to Kentucky.
Orton, Hood, Henry, Wall, and Cousins would be the best class not only in the history of UK basketball but possibly in the history of history.

Wall is an awesome facilitator but can also finish as well as anyone else in the country. I'll take him.

Yeah, why anyone would want the #1 player in the country is beyond me. FWIW, Michael Jordan was accused of being a selfish, me-first player when he played in Chicago. So was Carmelo Anthony while at Syracuse.
What do these guys have in common? National championships as freshmen.

LOL
OJ Mayo was also touted as a selfish player and look what he is doing in the NBA as a Rookie. This post is a joke.
Re: University of Kentucky Basketball
Reading comprehension is a great thing.
Never said he wasn't a great player. There is a reason he is widely regarded as number 1 player in country. Just like Marbury was. He will immediately contribute, just like Tyreke Evans this year in Memphis. However, he does things that don't show up in the box score (from all I've read and heard). He is not Derrick Rose. Can you win with him? Absolutely. Will you win with him? Absolutely. Will he lead a team to a championship? Not in my opinion. He appears to be one of those guys who has better stats the worse his team is. Just like Marbury.
But keep thinking I don't know what I'm talking about.

I didn't know Melo and Jordan played point guard. Thanks for setting me straight ;)
And for what its worth - the three comparsions I would make for Wall are Evans, Mayo and Marbury. Three tremendous players. Tremendous.

OJ Mayo is exactly what soured me on Tubby.
The 2007 class was supposed to be the best recruiting class in a long time. Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon, Michael Beasley, and two players right in Kentucky's back yard in OJ Mayo and Patrick Patterson. The best recruit Tubby could land from that class was AJ Stewart, who is likely to be shown the door by Calipari.
Had it not been for Tubby leaving for Minnesota and Gillispie making the hard sell, Patterson could very well be playing for Florida right now. Mayo played at Kentucky for two years in middle school and was not even a blip on the radar.

Perhaps Tubby was like alot of other big time coaches who wouldnt sell their souls for 1 year of a selfish player. Dude was too much of a circus to be worth it.
