Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Reds:
1. Lopez SS
2. Aurilia 2B
3. Casey 1B
4. Griffey CF
5. Randa 3B
6. Dunn LF
7. Pena RF
8. LaRue C
9. Harang P
Giants:
1. Ellison CF
2. Vizquel SS
3. Snow 1B
4. Alou LF
5. Tucker RF
6. Cruz 2B
7. Feliz 3B
8. Matheny C
9. Tomko P
I guess Narron didn't like having a .400 OBP in the 2 hole against righties. Casey's is hot right now, but still should not be in the 3 hole.

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
The two worst hitters starting are batting 2nd and 3rd in the lineup ... again.
Figures :barf:

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Anybody have the stats on how Lopez does when batting in front of Aurillia v. batting in front of Dunn? It seems to me, anecodotally, that he has a lot of 0-fers and 1-fers with Dunn behind him, but a lot of 2 and 3 hit games with Rich behind him.
That, if true, both confuses and irks me.
-
Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
FWIW Aurilia and Casey OWN Tomko and Dunn is hitting .182 off him.
Dunn does have 2 HR's against Tomko in 11 AB's though.

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Names out of a hat every night.

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
*shrug*
I knew Dunn in the 2 spot was fleeting ;)
-
Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
It looks to me that Narron *may* be looking at batter vs. pitcher stats in his lineup construction.
-
Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
I guess Dunn's .538 OBP in the two slot isn't good enough.

Those two RBIs last night didn't help either.

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Is this game on FSO tonight? I didn't think it was, but enquirer says it is. I hope so. Wasn't expecting it tonight.

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Gonna watch the game on TiVo after work tonight, so, this is my only check-in. Go Reds, and if what Caveat Emperor says is right....how odd, eh?
It does seem that Narron is looking at pitching/hitting matchups...really, he could do worse, IMO.

It's not listed on my cable guide here in Columbus. :(

With Dunn hitting 2nd:
1st time: Lopez goes 3 for 3 with a walk
2nd time: Lopez goes 4 for 5; double shy of cycle
3rd time: Lopez goes 1 for 3 HBP
4th time: Lopez goes 0 for 4 walk
Total: 8 for 15(.553/.611).

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Not listed on FSN Cincy on DirecTV

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Tonight would be as good a night as any for Aaron to stop stinking.

If that's the best he can do with Dunn batting behind him...... :bang:

Dunn was getting on base too much. Reds need a scrappy hitter in the two hole.
Narron is Miley Lite

A hitter with an OPS under 700 against RH pitching batting 3rd. I guess those numbers don't count

I think it might have been Miley being Narron-Lite.

Casey fronts most people with his BA, but that stat is pathetic. How can you possibly continue to bat him third? :help:
-
Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Unless the game is blacked out in your area...DTV users try channel 654
-
Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Casey
About a week into the season I predicted Casey would OPS sub 800 the first half of the season. I also predicted he'll OPS >900 the second half.
I'll stick to that for now.

against RH ptiching Casey should be batting 7th. His 698 OPS defies description. A number only Castro could be proud of.
OPS against RH pitching
Lopez 980
Aurilia 705
Casey 698
Jr 863
Randa 882
Dunn 1022
Pena 802
Larue 819
2 worst hitters(by a lot are hitting 2nd and 3rd) should be batting 7th and 8th

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
BTW, Josh Hall had another good outing. 6IP 5H 2ER 2BB 3K
He should be here instead of Hudson who has no clue where the ball is going
-
Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Casey's gimmick is he goes on season long slumps and then season long hot streaks. Only deal is those "seasons" are never in the same season.
He'll streak from allstar break to allstar break.

and no clue how easy his stuff is to hit.

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
I'm gonna say it. maybe I am the first to say it. I really don't know.
But Casey has to be hurt, cuz this seems awfully familiar.

Hall, I sould like to give him the rest of the year to be successful, no matter what. I wouldn't even want to see a promotion to AAA. Next year he can sink or swim in the bigs. Kelly, OTOH, strikes me as a pitcher who has a track record of success, and would seem to gain the most and lose the least by a promotion. If Hudson had options, Kelly would be up and Luke sent down. But since he doesn't, we shall see neither.

If he's hurt, then he got hurt mid-season last year.
2nd Half, 2004-360/461
1st half, 2005-360/402

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
this organization is so completely lost it is impossible to describe

Re: Lineups out early tonight, and it's changed again!
Marty just said that Casey is possibly the most un-productive regular first baseman in the league.

So we've got that going for us, which is nice.

I hope he meant Major League, and not National League!!

Another weak ground ball from Sean Casey. His GB/FB ratio is almost an even 2 right now, whereas last year it was closer to 1.3.
He is not elevating pitches because he is being pitched to induce grounders, and he continues to help opposing pitchers by swinging at bad balls.

When the Reds traded for Casey, years like 99 or 04 I thought would be normal years for him, with some years Casey hitting something like 340 30 homers and 120RBI type years. He never has lived up to that potential I thought he had. But not many of the 97-99 group traded for/drafted have.
