Right now there are 5 05' draftee's to watch:
1.Jay Bruce: We all know him;)
2.Sam Lecure: Projectable righty who has had a inconsistant, injury plagued year. May develope quickly now.
3.Travis Wood: Muscle inflammation has set him back a good deal, his advanced changeup usually indicates a easy time in High A, but he has struggled with command IMO due to the injury.
4.Charles Fisher: Big projectable righty. Started off strong and has faded recently. Fresh arm and maturity hopefully means a rebound soon.
5.Adam Rosales: The original trendsetter with the 05 class. Got set back due to injuries last year, but is rebounding nicely this year, Ryan Freel trainee perhaps?
6.Others to watch: Mike Jones(who?), Nickols, Zack Ward(already dealt) sinkerballer who lost his powerstuff when he entered minor league ball and Avery(bullpen).
It will be interesting to see how this ballyhoo'd draft helps rebuild the Reds in the coming years with production and trades. I like thinking post-draft rankings are like ranking college football recruiting classes. Most of the Reds drafts have recieved poor grades after the draft is over, but this one was quite built up and praised. Matter of fact, maybe the most heralded Reds draft in a generation even over the 1998 draft and overrated 2003 draft.
Votto doubled in the 7th and is now 2 for 4 with a single and double.
