What sort of adjustment?
I bet there are some recliners in the clubhouse to blame.
Chiropractors of the mind.
The attitude adjustment needs to come more from the front office than the clubhouse.
So you're saying they need a check up from the neck up?
Reds need better talent....
False. Attitude Adjustment is a wrestling move and I'm told wrestling has no place in baseball
I thought we had Rowdy Reds. Isn't that the right attitude?
And here I thought the problem was the pitching, defense and middle infield.
Given that we're 28 games into a 162 game season and only 2 under .500, I wasn't certain there WAS a huge problem yet.
They need to not be shut out on days they give up a lot of runs
The Reds need a team ERA adjustment from 5.11.
They need a road OPS adjustment from .601.
They need a Fangraphs defensive rating adjustment from -4.3.
I'd say the attitude adjustment needs to be this:
1) I get the "Let the kids play" movement and how you're out of touch if you don't agree. I'm all for showing emotion, but baseball has an elegant form: it's not a clownshow. Amir Garrett was a clownshow the other day. It's not that it was only excessive, but that it was ugly, unentertaining, and bad form. His attitude about his conduct on the field needs to change.
2) When the Reds get blown out and David Bell gets ejected because he's focusing on a player CLEARLY UNITENTIONALLY getting hit by a pitch, his attitude needs to change. I realize he got to talk about the HBP instead of how his team stunk in the presser afterward, but he needs to not absolutely lose it if a player gets hit. It wasn't on purpose, and it's part of the game.
