Re: 10-1-17 Reds @ Cubs 3:20 PM ET
This is always a sad day for me. No more baseball until February and no more real games until late March. Even as bad as this season has been, it's baseball and Reds baseball.

Re: 10-1-17 Reds @ Cubs 3:20 PM ET
With Jake Arrieta scratched and instead throwing a simulated game Wednesday because of a right hamstring injury, lefty Mike Montgomery will make the start for Chicago. In what is expected to essentially be a bullpen day. Rookie Deck McGuire will start for Cincinnati.
Meanwhile, Sunday is expected to be first baseman Joey Votto's 162nd start of the season, making him the first Reds player to start every game of a non-strike season since Pete Rose in 1975. Billy Hamilton, who has 59 steals, will look to overtake Miami's Dee Gordon, who leads MLB with 60, for his first stolen-base crown.
After he was out of the starting lineup on Saturday, Reds shortstop Zack Cozart (right quadriceps) is expected to start what could be his final game with the team. Cozart will be a free agent for the first time this offseason.

Normally I would feel the same way. But to be honest, I can't wait for this season to be over. It's a chore to follow this club, and it's painful to watch them as they stumble yet again toward another finish line.

Re: 10-1-17 Reds @ Cubs 3:20 PM ET
Baez drives one off the LCF wall, Billy plays it perfect and holds him to a single.

I'm kind of the same way. For me, the Reds have been playing exhibitions since July. This is the start of next season and we are 0-0

Looks like Billy will finish 2nd to Dee Gordon again in stolen bases. It sure helps Gordon when he gets on base nearly 100 times a season more than Billy. Gordon has 200 hits this year. Billy has 140.
