Well, the Joker does play for the Rapids.

That guy did have a couple of pretty solid flops.
The Galaxy tied the game at 1 in the 78th minute and after that the ref completely lost control. A couple minutes later he awarded Colorado a penalty, although replay clearly showed there was no contact and he at best tripped or at worst flopped. Good thing VAR exists in MLS now. Except they didn’t even look at it! Why even have it if not for this exact scenario. So Colorado scores and is up 2-1. After 7 minutes later the Galaxy have a corner and while heading the ball towards goal, a Galaxy defender is kicked in the face in the box with a high boot. Replay also showed a potential handball. It takes about 2-3 minutes for the ref to decide to go look at it, which he does for about 30 seconds before deciding to do nothing. Then in the time wasting Colorado was doing to kill off the game, a guy flops at the corner flag and the ref gives Pavon a straight red, takes another 2 minutes to look at it, before overturning it.
I know I’m biased, but it really was embarrassing for the league. I get that bad decisions get made by refs, but it’s infuriating that there is a system now in place to fix that and it still doesn’t work at all.
Just like a horse race.
"Down the stretch they come!"
Except there's no playoffs in a horse race.
An MLS writer stated last week that Portland is the likeliest team to knock off LAFC in the playoffs in the Western Conference, but first they have to make the playoffs. That sounds very prophetic.
LAFC hasn’t won a match since Aug.21 (4 ties and one loss). Before that they seemed invincible, winning 7 straight. They are having trouble scoring goals. They need to find their previous form soon.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan. Was worried it would be 100% brick to match the area and a soccer twin to Nationwide Arena, but that's a good design.
I agree. Of the new soccer stadiums being built, I would put it up there with FC Cincinnati as distinctive facilities, as opposed to Austin FC, which looks like it should be called Texas Roadhouse Stadium, and Nashville SC, which looks like Mapfre with a roof. Of course Inter Miami has a crazy design planned, but I doubt that thing ever gets off the ground. I imagine their temporary home in Ft. Lauderdale becoming their permanent "temporary" home.
I'm confused by this whole "soccer stadium" thing. Everyone knows soccer is played in a mostly empty football stadium in a sleepy exurb.
Big night tonight with lots of playoff implications.
