Harang throws a 1-2-3 first inning on only seven pitches.
Two hitless innings from Harang so far.
With only 7 of us here, do we refer to our group as "The Magnificent Seven?"
I guess everyone else is watching the NFL, also known as the No Fun League. ;)
Ya' know, this hasn't been exactly a fun year to watch the Reds but I just checked on the Bengals game with the Ravens.
Compared to the Bengals the Reds are a delight. Geez, I'll bet that somewhere up in football heaven Paul Brown is wishing he had used a condom.

EdE gets the first hit and now we get the bottom of the order (6-7-8 hitters), to drive him in (wishful thinking).
Bruce HBP. 1st & 2nd with 1 out.
Heeerrrreees Corey! Blech!
Rem
Patterson up with the sacks loaded. I look for the old 4-6-3 DP to end the inning.
Hanigan walks. I love his plate discipline. He'll never hit for much power but he's got a good eye at the plate.
Reds get it done in spite of Corey hitting the first pitch.
Rem
Well, what do you know. Patterson swings at the first pitch and gets a SF and it's 1-0 Reds. Even a blind squirrel...
First pitch swinging by Patterson results in a sac fly, 1-0 Reds.
A few years ago I was at a Reds/Pads game in San Diego when DaMeet was playing regularly. I got into a conversation with the Pads fan sitting next to me and ended up betting him a beer that if DaMeet came up at least 4 times in that game that he would swing at the first pitch at least three times. By Young's third AB (around the 5th inning) I had my beer.
I would be pretty confident about making that same bet with Corey Patterson in the lineup. :p:

Harang throws a 1-2-3 third inning with a couple K's in the inning.
The Reds go in order in the third inning but they forced Marshall to throw 19 pitches and run his pitch count to 55.
1-0 Reds after three innings.
Oh man, Phillips is beating himself up with a couple of foul balls off his (looks like) left knee. Grounds down to 2nd base and just hobbles down to first.
This guy might need a break here.

Hoffpauir singles to begin the Cubs 4th. That's the first Cubs hit of the game.
Sounds like Wrigley.
Disturbing.
Harang was dominant through three innings but now the Cubs have loaded the bases with nobody out.
Soto grounds into a doubleplay, 1-1.
DeRosa grounds out. Nice rebound from Harang. 1-1 after 3 1/2.
Votto leads off the bottom of the 4th with a walk.
Bruce singles, Votto holds at third with only one out.
This cheering for the Cubs makes me ill. Most of those idiot couldn't name 5 players on the Cubs team.
I'm in a chipper mood today.
Hanigan flies out to left and Soriano throws Votto out at home. 1-1 after four innings.
Edmonds K's to begin the 5th inning.
is the game on tv anywhere?
It looks like Theriot singles off the glove of Kepp and then Sean Marshall drops down a bunt single on a 1-2 pitch. How in the heck do you allow a pitcher to drop down a bunt single when you know it's coming? Goodness.
Harang escapes some shoddy defense by getting Soriano to GIDP to end the inning.
Nice job by Harang to get out of it with a 5-3 DP.
Patterson singles to begin the 5th.
Sac bunt by Harang moves Patterson to second with one out.
