He wouldn't be the first pitcher who gives up a few early hits (and even a run) who goes on and has a decent game.
Let's hope he can. Young's 2b was smoked.
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
Geez, this looks like batting practice early vs. Leake. Gotta find a way to survive 3 more innings. Can't kill the bullpen vs. the Mets.
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
Mets being very aggressive against Leake. Mets with six hits in first ten batters.

But they are 6/8 on balls hit into play.

He was doing fine when you first said it.
Only the last two batters have hit the ball hard.

Heh, this is the kind of stuff that makes the BABIP worshippers a bit hard to take seriously. Eight at-bats? With almost every one being a line drive? Yeah, six hits is more than possible.

Prior to the last two hits, it was bloops and dinks.
The ball to right was a soft liner with a funny spin. The hit up the middle by Wright was a broken bat blooper. The run-scoring single was a soft groundball up the middle.
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
It' almost like the hitters know what pitch is coming.

Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
now it is official -- Leake not sharp tonight
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
Nope. He's not on the playoff roster
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
Well, that didn't go well. 51 pitches and 4 runs.
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
Whoever claimed yesterday that Leake was being shunned for playoff rotation, here's a reminder of why.
Re: 9/24/13 - Redlegs vs. Metropolitans
Well.....At least I can find other things to do tonight.
