While true that doesn't explain why every hitter has sucked since the ASG.

You ought to hear it thru my eyes!
Re: Wed 9/3/14 Reds @ Orioles of Baltimore
Maybe the Reds officials should take a look at the '68 White Sox and realize putting all their eggs in the pitching basket didn't get it done for them...and it won't get it done now.
And the '68 White Sox had a better pitching staff than the Reds do now.

Without the Reds starting pitching staff, they'd be 15 games under .500 at least.
Not addressing LF is a valid criticism but their best hitter has missed most of the season and their second best hitter is having the worst season of his career.
Re: Wed 9/3/14 Reds @ Orioles of Baltimore
Thom said Phillips was pretty much yelling at Contreras....looked like he was cheering him on to me

Sometimes I wonder if gouging my eyes out wouldn't be less painful than watching this "offense."

IMHO, Even when Votto comes back, and does well, this team needs much more to put them back into contention
Re: Wed 9/3/14 Reds @ Orioles of Baltimore
I usually watch games on mlb.tv but I chose the WLW option just so I can hear how cranky Marty was gonna be.
It's the little things.

They're not getting back into contention this season...but they're a much better team with Votto's .950 OPS bat in the lineup.

Couldn't agree more. They can't expect Votto to make up for subpar offensive performances by the remaining spots in the lineup, nor should they.

I don't think anyone disputes that. But they need another bat to fully benefit from having Votto in the lineup.
Re: Wed 9/3/14 Reds @ Orioles of Baltimore
Price raising the white flag.....first Contreras, now Hoover.
Re: Wed 9/3/14 Reds @ Orioles of Baltimore
Someone stop the pain. Make it stop.
Re: Wed 9/3/14 Reds @ Orioles of Baltimore
I look at Hoover's record, and I still do a double take. 1W-10L
It could be worse I suppose...Jake Peavy is 4W-13L
