Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Is this a "must win" game?
May Luis' pitches seem invisible and Reds hitters see beach balls.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Surprised no Casali today as Castillo's battery mate.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
good to see that kyle farmer is not our full-time playoff shortstop.

Really need this one.

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Barnhart instead of Casali? When Castillo and Casali had been on a good roll.
It is not like Tucker can out hit Casali. Got to forget the LHB vs. the RHP at least I believe so.
Hope Tucker can make me eat my words and have a huge game.

We got this. The bats bust out today, and Castillo cruises.

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
If the Reds wins this one, they have the advantage in the pitching matchup tomorrow. They can still win this series.

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Reds are 2-13 in their last 15 playoff games (counting 1999). So, the law of averages would seem to be in the Reds' favor.

I boldly took the Reds to score over 3.5 today. Maybe I meant "stupidly" when I typed "bodly".

Apparently the Casali decision is he is dealing with a sore wrist so that is why he is not playing today. He is available but outside an emergency situation you probably won't see Casali in this series again

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
IF Reds can win today I have very good feeling with Gray tomorrow. Big IF but the offense has to produce and Castillo has to give team 5 good innings.

If he's hurt, they should say he's hurt so that we can replace him with Stephenson. There's no point in having a wounded Casali taking up a roster spot if a healthy Stephenson is available.

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Can we at least see a couple runs scored today? That would be a good start.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
T-shirt change, the Michael Lorenzen inspired shirt from yesterday is out..the Puig as a Red shirt is in.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Listening to Bell on WLW pregame. Bell said they have run that double steal play throughput the season? Sorry this may be in wrong thread.
Currently jamming to RIGHT NOW by Van Halen. Perfect song for this situation.

I think we need to wear the retro vests with no sleeves

I have the 2012 Hunt for Red October bootleg t shirt on that I bought a few blocks outside the stadium during that post season.

That 2 was the first 2 they won in SF, and then came home to needing just one win in 3 chances, and failed, like they failed yesterday to get a single run in with several good chances. Ask the Twins how the law of averages worked out for them! They blew it in the first inning of the first game just like the Reds did yesterday.

It would be nice I did not realize until today we set another dubious record yesterday. First team in postseason history with 11 hits that did not score

I went from my lucky Reds t shirt to my lucky Reds sweatshirt today. If this does not work apparently I need new lucky clothes

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
9 pitch inning.
At least they were mostly strikes. Still, might have been better off just staring at the first two in each AB.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
votto with a really bad at-bat. put himself in a hole immediately with a weird check-swing on a ball that was very high.
that check-swing stuff that he started doing a couple years ago is the worst habit he has ever gotten into, imo.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
It seems like a win right now if we can get their starter to exceed 10 pitches in an inning

Yes apparently we still don't believe is making the pitcher work.
-
Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
Castillo needs a solid start in the first for confidence. He also needs to be efficient. High pitch count will be danger sign especially in light of the number of hurlers used yesterday. Mahle and Antone are there.

The big difference was no threat to score from the first 2 getting hits! Converting threats is the problem.

Re: 10-1-20 Reds @ Braves WCS Game 2
That inning looked familiar.
