Our season head-to-head record vs the Cards is inconsequential at this point, and we don't play the Cards again the remainder of the year. After this Rockie series we have 22 games remaining against some pretty poor teams, all sub-500, in Pitt, Ariz, Houston, and Milwaukee. We had a 3 game set vs the Pads (away) who lost 10 straight before breaking out of their skid.
Nothing is a given obviously, but if we keep playing like we have the course of the season we'll be alright. The Cards play some of those same teams but have three tough 4 game sets coming up vs ATL (away), and then SD and end the season with Colorado. The pressure is on them not us.

You are exactly right. If the Reds continue to beat up on the bad teams they will be in good shape. If not, they only have themselves to blame. The divison is on a silver platter for them at the moment. They just have to take it.

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but with this loss it makes 8 in a row at Coors and 9 of 10.
Team has been good on the road, but Coors is looking like the new Dodger Stadium. Gotta shake that.

I have a reason for dubbing the Coors Field House of Horrors. I hate watching baseball games in that park, and not just when the Reds are playing there. Everything is artificial due to the altitude. The OFers have to play deeper than usual, they have to specially treat the baseballs, the pitchers have to adjust, the hitters have to make sure they aren't trying to crank everything, and the Rockies don't even look like the same team when you play them there vs. in their own park.

I think we've lost 17 of the last 20 at Coors Field. Would be interesting to see how other NL teams shake down at Coors over the same amount of games played.
