Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
3-0 Phils, Top of the first, one down.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
No no, just doubles, not homers
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
1-2-3 bottom of the inning. End of 1, 3-0 Phillies
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
The game is on ESPN in the local area.
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
The game threads over the past three days have been moribund. I submit the news of DanO's pending return has knocked the wind out of Redszone.
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
I'd agree with that M2, it's like we know there's not much hope for next year with him back.

Yes. It sure ruined my week.
It's hard to be interested when you know that they are not even going to attempt to improve things and correct what's wrong.
It's also real inspiring to see a lineup of Jacob Cruz at first, Rey Olmedo at second, Aurilia at third and no WMP or EdE on a Friday night.
The 3 runs in the first may just stand up.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
These gamethreads were dead before the DanO announcement. It is the end of the season, the time for these types of threads are over.

On 9/20 we were still averaging well over 100 posts and close 1,500 page views per game thread. Sure things were slower than earlier in the season, but it was still an active thread day in and day out.
It wasn't until the DanO announcement two days ago that the game threads keeled over.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Kearns doubles for the Reds' first baserunner.
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Kearns dbls, Ray-Ray moves him over, Harang RBI GO.
3-1 Phils.

Prove it, you are just giving opinions that also could be all timing. It is the end of the season, these threads just die. Actually, I could just as much say that the decline started with the Astro sweep and has gone on since then.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Get 'em over, get 'em in, just like Gary "Sarge" Matthews told the Baseball Bunch.
Olmedo grounds out to move Kearns over, then Harang brings the rib-eye with another GB.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Dunn called out and a horrible pitch, IMO.

This team is about as thrilling as having your soft parts shaved with a jagged and rusty razor.

Its the ball pulled down 5 feet for a strike pitch.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Olmedo can do the little things :D

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Freel singles and Lopez walks, but Dunn ends the inning. 3-1 Phils after 3.

IYO, IMO, IJNO, IDO, In-Everybody's-O except the Umpire's.
Narron almost got himself run from the dugout after that Inning. Ridiculous strike call.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Miley got thrown out once in NY this year, but is that it? I firmly believe a manager needs to get run once every other month just to keep the fire going.
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Aurilia smacks a single leading off the fourth, but Valentin Caseys him out.
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Utley homers, 4-1 bad guys

Go ahead, explain to me what happened two day ago that suddenly made the game threads as dead as those on an NFL Sunday. Anything in particular happen with the team that day that comes to mind?

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
I think tonight is the night that the Reds unleash Booker again.
:)

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
Utley flogs homer #23 for the Phils. 4-1, bottom of 4.

People finally realized the Reds stink and decided to do something else?

The seasons over. Deal with it. The Reds aren't on a hot streak either which isn't going to garner as much interest than playing out the string. Blaming the lack of game thread interest on the DanO 'announcement' makes me want to laugh.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
6-1 Phillies and Harang is still pitching...
-
Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
How bad is our pitching tonight?

What's wrong with you?

Bad enough to unleash Booker and see what he can do since he hasnt pitched in 48 2/3 days.

Re: Game Thread 9-23-05 Reds vs Phils
I lost faith this year. I still listened, but not as close. It's been a radio in the backyard while you do other stuff season.
Haven't watched much, haven't chatted much, haven't been very involved in game threads this season.
I just wish this front office would make me believe that they gave a rat's behind.

Don't remind me, I'm making tomorrow my last game of the season. Of course I've seen Milton pitch several times this year already and he's done well each time as I recall. I know one game was against the 'Stros early on and he pitched 7+ giving up only one run I think....could be wrong its been a while.

The season was over in May. Hell, if you want to be clinical about it, the season was terminal back in January. We still had active game threads up until two days ago.
You've got the numbers right in front of you there bright guy. YOU tell ME why they suddenly dropped off two days ago.
