Reds have now drawn 11 walks.
I am still wondering, will Marty ever explain how walks can be bad both for the pitcher and for the hitter because that is his exact position on walks.
Freel commits a Casey...
That's the ballgame... goodnight!
Freel swung.Quote:

Exactly. This pen is populated with a bunch of guys who simply don't perform very well over time because they're not freakin' good enough.Quote:

And not a one of those guys has thrown more IP in relief than the Reds should be able to reasonably expect and they've been carrying an extra arm all season long (and now have multiple extra arms). Better starters would help, but that help would be limited to not letting the stinkers in the pen get on the mound in the first place.
Nothing like having one of the most potent offenses in baseball with one of the most pathetic pitching staffs...

Let's go for 100 and be one the worst (all around) teams with the best offensive.

Is he ready? Weellllll sorta kinda maybe yes no. It's a 'tweener kind of thing.
The Reds could keep him at AAA and continue to polish the stone. But I agree with what their doing and letting him learn in the bigs. Every time I watch EE in a game, I see him do good things. He is improving. I think he is handling all the pressure well too. The Reds get a  from me on Eddie.
I keep thinking "Mike Schmidt, rookie year" when I watch EE.
