I'm not a big comic book movie fan anyway, but I know others are.

I'm a DC fan, and they need a complete reboot. If they can find a way to preserve Wonder Woman and maybe Harley Quinn and flip everyone else, maybe they'll have a shot. That sounds sexist, but for the life of me I can't think of another good actor/character match. Even Ezra Miller was miscast. One thing they need to do, though, is reestablish all the heroes before even considering the Justice League again. And remember, Batman doesn't work well with others.

They've done TV pretty well, but the Arrowverse wisely isn't built around Batman and Superman. They're even doing Crisis on Infinite Earths next year. I don't know the DC canon that well, but maybe focus on strong characters rather than plots. I've always maintained they dropped the ball by not rolling heavy with Wildfire (who seemed to be their Wolverine in waiting back in the day).

Went to see They Shall Never Grow Old today, very good and I highly recommend it.

No one told me The Killing of a Sacred Goat takes place in Cincy! There’s GABP in the first 10 minutes.
Watched it on Amazon Prime and it really held my interest. An original surreal movie.

Plus the evil kid in the movie looks like Walker Buehler!

Went to see The Favourite last night. That was NOT exactly the direction I expected that one to go, but definitely an interesting (if not often odd) movie. It's one of those that the critics love and audiences aren't so sure about, but I think it's worth seeing.
Re: Official Redszone Movie Thread, Part IV
Bublebee was very good and not over done or bloated like many of the Transformers movies of the past.

Rami Malek won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama. We'll see if that carries over.
Also, Bohemian Rhapsody won Best Picture for a Drama. That's a bit of a surprise to me. I suspected A Star is Born would have won.
Re: Official Redszone Movie Thread, Part IV
Who votes on Golden Globes? Fans loved Bohemian Rhapsody. Critics didn't (or pretended not to). The rest of that discussion probably on the Politics and Religion Board...:)

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The votes get a little wonky sometimes and isn't a great indicator for the Oscars, but can give some movies and actors some momentum since the Oscar voting isn't all done yet.

Is that the one where the yellow and black robot transforms into an old-style singer?
Re: Official Redszone Movie Thread, Part IV
Golden Globes results has less politics and is usually a better assessment of the actual performances than the Oscar results.

It has different politics, not sure it has less.
It also has a tilt towards established stars.

I guess not this year with Malek and his movie beating out Cooper and his.
