Now that...was a lazy fly ball
Re: 5/18/2014-Reds-Vs-Phillies-Rubber Game
Oh, my bad...I am eating and when I looked up I saw a wall but I did not think it was the outfield wall.

Ground out to Mesoraco. 2 outs.
Re: 5/18/2014-Reds-Vs-Phillies-Rubber Game
I thought it was the foul territory wall.

To answer an earlier query by another poster, yes, it's too early to start drinking ;)
Re: 5/18/2014-Reds-Vs-Phillies-Rubber Game
Lee strikes out looking. 4 Ks. 2-2 after 2.
Re: 5/18/2014-Reds-Vs-Phillies-Rubber Game
Mike Schmidt, one of the greatest power hitting 3B of all time is saying on the Phillies broadcast every hitter should approach every pitch like they have 2 strikes. They should choke up and make fast compact swings. I wish someone in the booth had said "Mike, if you had that approach you wouldn't be a hall of famer."

Or led the league in K's 4 times either.
Although to his credit, he really did make some kind of adjustment that worked. His K numbers fell drastically later in his career.

If side to side movement is Jay's problem, then my suggestion is to just hit the ball over the wall more often and just work on his jogging.
Re: 5/18/2014-Reds-Vs-Phillies-Rubber Game
My goal for the afternoon was to get Redszone to defend Neftali Soto - mission accomplished!

That approach wouldn't be for everyone, but in this day and age of advanced scouting and pitchf/x too many hitters have been neutered...so it's not a bad idea for many guys, at least moreso than when Mike played.
